Hi I'm Sam Mitchell

I live in Sequim I enjoy music, humor, food, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have recently graduated from high school. At this time I am preparing to serve a mission. I will be serving in the South Carolina Columbia mission. After my mission I plan on attending college and studying music education. I play percussion with our local community orchestra. I enjoy watching television, watching baseball, hiking, riding my bike, music, and spending time with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents have been members all their lives. So throughout my life I've attended church with them. Although in this gospel, you can't rely on the testimony of others forever. Eventually you have to figure it out for yourself. So at a young age, I read the Book of Mormon and then prayed to my Father in Heaven to know if the church was true, and if the Book of Mormon was true. I then had a warm feeling in my heart that this was true, and this was how I needed to live my life. Currently I put God's will above my own, which is why I have made the decision to sacrifice 2 years of my life to serve the Lord. I have experienced much joy and happiness through living this gospel. Why should I hold that back from others who are looking for happiness?

How I live my faith

I have the opportunity to play organ in sacrament meeting two Sundays a month. I also play organ and piano for other church meetings. I also home-teach 4 different families. I am assigned to visit those families every month to check up on them, and to make sure they are doing well. I also attend a religious class for young adults called Institute every Tuesday night, where we study the scriptures. I also am preparing for my mission. I am preparing financially by working 5-8 hours a day, 5 days a week. I am also studying the scriptures, Preach my Gospel (a missionary handbook), and praying every single day. I also attend church every Sunday for 3 hours. I do all of this to come closer to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
