Hi I'm Sterling Kreutzer

I surf, I create, I learn, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

You have no idea how stoked I am. I totally love surfing! Its something I do everyday. I cant wait for the next swell. Surfing is almost indescribable in all the aspects that make it awesome. Suffice it to say, I Love Surfing! I've been home for the last 6 months since I graduated from high school, but now I'm finally moving forward. I received my Mission Call for the LDS Church. Im going to serve 2 years in Portugal in a few months, and I'm stoked beyond belief about that. Those few months between now and then gave me enough time to squeeze in my first semester at college. I'm going to the frozen city of Rexburg, Idaho attending the BYU-I winter semester. Im practically gone forever on my own come New Years, but I'm looking forward to really experiencing being self reliant. I'll be leaving behind my 2 sisters and my parents. I also have an older brother on a mission right now. He's serving in North Carolina. So Stoked!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a "Mormon" so to speak. I guess I should really be answering the question, Why am I a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints? I already said i was raised in this church, but that is not what makes me a member. Once I entered High School it would have been quite easy for me to fall away from the church. At the time when I was really seeing the influence that satan has on the world, how easy it would be to follow. Being raised in this church helped me withstand the influences around me. Its not that I was raised LDS, Its that I decided when I saw these influences I knew what needed to be done. I decided I needed to know if it was really worth it to keep following these teachings. I started reading the Book of Mormon, and I started praying more fervently. Now I would love to say I had some marvelous experience and everything was answered all at once, but I had a different marvelous experience. I've found that my testimony of this church and all things pertaining to its beliefs have come through a series of events. I can't put a name to all of them, but they came from living righteously and trying to do the right things. The things I had been raised with. Going to Church, Praying, and Reading the Scriptures. Once I had a desire to know and to do what was right, these 3 things had a completely different meaning for me. Every time I do these things, I am spiritually edified. I know these actions helped me gain my testimony. God lives. He knows me, and he knows you. He loves us both equally and infinitely. He will provide a way for us to be the happier than even I can imagine. Trust in the Lord and anything can happen. This Church is the one true Church of God, headed by Jesus Christ himself. This Church contains all the answers to questions about life one might have.

How I live my faith

You may have figured out the real name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It is quite a mouthful, so our shortened version of that is LDS. Then why are we called Mormons? Well I'll tell you why. Hopefully you've heard of the Bible. We use the Bible in our religion for study and such things. Likewise, we also have another book, another Testament of Jesus Christ, The Book of Mormon. That's where the nickname "Mormon" comes from. My testimony of the truths to be found in this book affects my whole life. Its true that I normally only talk about these things at church, but these things affect my day to day living. Every choice I make is affected by the morals and goals I have developed. I currently help people with finding their family history, but soon I will be a full time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
