Hi I'm Sheyanne Lyn Root

Oregon Raised. Brigham Young University Hawaii. Sister Missionary in the Argentina Buenos Aires South Mission.

About Me

My name is Sheyanne and I am a student at Brigham Young University-Hawaii. I plan on becoming a couture gown designer after my education is complete. I dream of New York City on the daily and live my life through my creative eyes. My love for fashion encompasses my whole being and I am passionate about making a difference in the fashion industry. I am a blogger, social media addict, and family fanatic. My family happens to be my very best friends. I am blessed with wonderful parents and 6 amazing siblings who I am anxious to spend eternity with. I was raised in Eastern Oregon and have been called to serve as a missionary in the Argentina Buenos Aires South mission. I love my Heavenly Father so very much and am so thankful for all that I do have.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings me happiness. Many see the guidelines of Mormonism as being overbearing, but I have come to the knowledge that every ounce of Mormonism is designed to bring happiness. Christ is the center of this religion and Christ is who brings happiness. I am happy because I know where I came from, why I am here, and where I am going. I am happy because I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and he cares about every single worry that I have. Being a Mormon makes me realize that I have a purpose. I am one hundred percent sure that this is the true church and I have no regrets in following the principals of this church. As I learn more and more about the doctrine, the spirit always testifies and lets me know that what I am learning is true. Everything always adds up and I know that I am being taught exactly what my Heavenly Father would have me be taught. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the best gift I have ever been given and I am a Mormon because I want to live with my family and Heavenly Father for all eternity. I am a Mormon because it brings the purest form of happiness that the world will ever know and I would never trade my religion for anything.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by allowing the love of Christ to flow through me. I am only nineteen, so my leadership in the church has been minimal but, I have learned through my callings the importance of loving each and every person you come into contact with. When someone feels your love, they will also feel of the love that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ has for them. I have served in my young women and high school seminary class. I have helped with my singles ward at BYUH and all of these experiences have helped me feel of the love that Heavenly Father has for each and every one of his sons and daughters. It is not the calling in itself that strengthens a person, it is the experiences that an individual goes through that truly builds a stronger testimony and a more sure knowledge of the light of the gospel. I live my faith by following the spirit and striving to become more like Christ with every passing day.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Sheyanne Lyn Root
Personally, when I read the scriptures I receive word for word answers to my prayers. As a young teen who grew up a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I took scripture study for granted. But the moment I left my home and started to face trials that were far larger than my teenage mind could handle, started searching for clearer insight from my Heavenly Father. As I would ask questions, I would open my scriptures to find answers that were catered specific to my trial. I can promise that each time you open any of the standard works that if you search with real intent, you will find an answer, and I cannot think of a greater blessing. Show more Show less
