Hi I'm Lenard Wright

I was born in Wyoming but have lived in Utah since 1967. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have always been quite active in outdoor activities such as running, rappelling, canyoneering, mountain bike riding, hiking, snow shoeing and Jeep riding in several Western states. In recent years I have developed a case of Parkinson's disease so my activities have been somewhat restricted but not eliminated. I am married and we have 5 children and 22 grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members of the Mormon church, having been baptized when they were young. I, likewise, was baptized as a member of the Mormon church when I turned 8 years of age. That is the earliest age allowed for baptism in our church. I didn't think too much about church membership until I was called, at age 19, to serve a mission for the Mormon church. I spent the next 2 years in England doing proselyting work and it was there that I began to seriously study and pray about spiritual things. I developed a belief about the existence of God and Jesus Christ and the love they have for me. I also became acquainted with the Book of Mormon and have a testimony that it is the word of God, just as the Bible is. I have hope and believe that there is a life after this earth life and that I can live with my Father in Heaven if I strive to live a good life and allow the atonement of the Savior to fully operate in my life.

How I live my faith

I believe that one of the greatest responsibilities and opportunities of living on this earth is service to others. The top priority for service is my wife and children. In addition, I have tried to serve others when I see their needs. For example, since I retired from my job with a natural gas company in 2006, I have served, on a volunteer basis, as a missionary for the Mormon church. I served for 5 of those years helping others do genealogy work. I also served for eighteen months in an office of a Mormon mission office. I am currently serving as a missionary for the Mormon church in the state of New York. I have been abundantly blessed during my life and want to do my part in helping others.
