Hi I'm Michael M.

I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States of America. I love the Lord, and the gospel. I am a Mormon :)

About Me

I was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV. I grew up in the Church, so I always had the gospel in my life. I am in the military; I joined the Army National Guard so I could be in the military and close to home. I am currently a UH-60 helicopter mechanic. I enjoy martial arts; I am an assistant instructor at a local school. I also love learning just about anything in general. In fact, I am currently learning Russian in preparation for my mission!!! I can't wait to get out in the field and learn and serve as much I can. I'm also looking forward to coming home and telling my family all about it. Not only that, but I will also be meeting my one true love for the very first time in person; she lives a few states away from me. I am so excited for all of this to start happening!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church. the gospel has always been a part of my life. I've always gone to church and met my callings. I just know that this is THE true church. it is the Church of Jesus Christ. the members are fantastic in my ward; we're like one big family, because we are always there for each other. the members are so supportive and cheerful. I love all of them. these people have had influences on me in the best way. also, my family has always been a part of the Church, and that too has had a great impact on my upbringing. I just love this Church, and I testify now that I know this truly is the Church of Jesus Christ and these are the last days. I testify that the Lord loves us and wants us to come unto Him so that we may be happy. I testify of the truthfulness and fullness of the gospel, and that Joseph Smith restored the Priesthood through the power of God, so that we may have the authority to fulfill the Lord's work in this dispensation. I testify that my mission is the most important thing I will ever do, that this is truly the most important work I could ever accomplish, and I also testify that the Lord will bless me, my family, my companions, and the families we serve for the sacrifices that we'll make and the work we'll put in. I testify of these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I am heading out on my mission in less than a week. I am going to serve in Russia and preach the gospel in the Russian language. I am so excited about this incredible opportunity the Lord has blessed me with. I so look forward to going to the MTC and learning all I can, then going to serve my brothers and sisters in Russia. I love the Lord, and I love my brethren, and I do know this is the right path for me. I know I must do this, because the Lord has called me to do it. I will follow the example of Nephi: "I will go and I will do the thing the Lord commands, for I know the Lord giveth no commandment unto the children of men save he shall prepare a way that they may accomplish that which he has commanded them". Not sure if I got every word right, but this is one of the many examples I will learn from and follow. I am just thrilled beyond belief to be serving a mission for the Lord, and I know blessings beyond measure are waiting for me, my companions, my family, and the families we will serve. I am so thankful for the gospel and Church in my life; it has blessed me so much to know the Lord is there to guide me through the Holy Ghost. Many of the decisions I have made were because I had the influence of the Spirit, and I am so blessed and glad that I made those decisions. my life is on such a good...no, fantastic path because of the Church, and the gospel's principles and doctrines. one of these days, I will marry my sweetheart in the temple, and be sealed to her for eternity, and we will teach our family of the importance of the gospel, and how they can be happy by having the guidance of the Holy Ghost and the influence and teachings and examples of Jesus Christ to follow. words could never hope to describe what I feel for the Lord, how happy I am because I have Him in my life, but I hope to help others become introduced to the Spirit, to feel the same things I have felt, so that they may be happy too.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Michael M.
we do believe that we are saved by the grace of God, but we also believe that man is not saved by grace alone. man has to go forth and do the work of the Lord, not sit idly by and wait for grace. being saved requires both grace on the Lord's part, and work on our part; being saved is not like recieveing a handout.
