Hi I'm Mariah Honda

I was born in Colorado. I love talking to and uplifting others. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love working and playing with children, taking photographs, singing fun, uplifting songs, and discussing ideas and learning new concepts regarding the world, the gospel, and books.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my religion has been my rock and my anchor that has weathered me through the storms of my life. It has brought me comfort and peace. While I have questioned why before, I've learned to doubt my doubts before I doubt my faith and that has made all the difference. I can honestly say being a Mormon has made me happy, and more importantly, through it, I have become a better person. If I didn't have my religion in my life, I don't know what would have happened to me or where I would have ended up.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by fulfilling my church callings, living the standards in For the Strength of Youth, serving my family and friends, and reading my scriptures and going to church every Sunday. I have been greatly blessed to be a nursery leader in my ward and I love interacting and playing and teaching those little children every Sunday. I have the most wonderful visiting teaching companion who's sweet spirit always touches me and pushes me to be better. Through her, I have learned the value of loving others even if I don't know them very well. She has taught me not to overlook people who would normally escape our notice; to seek out those who need love and kindness. My family has nurtured my testimony in the gospel and I will forever be indebted to them and the Book of Mormon for my strong faith in the Lord that I have today that enables me to act with love and strive for patience and kindness when I would otherwise get angry and hateful. Above all, I'm just thankful to my Lord and Savior for giving me a fresh, clean slate every day to make my mark on. I hope that if I do leave a mark on this world, it will be that others notice the light of Christ within me and can be brought to a knowledge of His eternal love and the limitless capacity of mercy and salvation he extends to each of us. I am grateful for the Atonement and for friends and family who constantly uplift and support me. And I am grateful that Joseph Smith restored the church of Jesus Christ to the earth so that I could be apart of such a glorious entity that's bigger than me.
