Hi I'm Taya

I am a singer. I grew up in Washington, Alaska, and now Colorado. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am 19 and have completed a year of college and have now decided to serve a mission! I am going to be serving in the Dominican Republic. I am a singer and have a song on iTunes. I love adventure and doing everything that makes me happy! My family is my number one support in life, I love them so much!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents have always shown me how to be a member of the church, but there is only so much they can show you and teach you. I have decided for myself to be a member of His church. The immense blessings and happiness that I have seen and felt have truly made me who I am today. A Mormon. Through the church you not only have the wonderful gospel, but you gain a family. A family that supports you, stands by your side, and comforts you. You serve together, and grow stronger through the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that through my life everything comes from Him. I have been put through trials and joy that have all strengthened me. Without the gospel of Jesus Christ I don't know where I would be today. It sounds silly, but I wouldn't be preparing to serve a mission or attending the wonderful college that I attend without the love and support that the gospel brings to my life.

How I live my faith

I have grown up in the church so it is part of my daily life. I love the church and the gospel with all my heart! At the age of 19, girls are able to serve a mission if they want to. I have had the burning desire to serve a mission and have been called to serve the wonderful people of the Dominican Republic. This 18 month mission is one of the biggest decisions I have made so far in my life in showing my faith. Sure I have been a good example and have invited friends to church functions, but this is something much more. I will have the amazing opportunity to serve, strengthen and learn from the people that the Lord will put in my path to teach. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ, it has brought incomprehensible joy, blessings, and comfort in my life. I know that this is the true gospel that has been put on the earth for us in these latter days and I am extremely blessed to be able to go out and tell the world about the joy that I have in my life!
