Hi I'm Angelica

I believe in having a positive outlook on life. Friends uplift my soul and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in California with my mom and one of my brothers. I am the youngest of my mothers children and the second oldest of my fathers. I was introduced to the LDS (Mormon) church when I was 13 and chose to become a member shortly after as the teaching I'd received filled my heart and gave me purpose. I am currently in a college student with less than a year to go. Currently my goal is to figure out a career that will help me make the most impact on the people around me. I enjoy being in nature, traveling, learning about new cultures, and spending all the time I can with people I care about. I love life and the opportunities that are created in it by choosing worthwhile paths, even if they might not be ones most commonly taken.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized Catholic when I was four but my mom shortly after began attending different churches to see what the right fit for her was and I obviously tagged along. We studied with Jehovah Witnesses for a long time and although many of the principles they taught were good, some did not sit well with me so in sixth grade I chose to stop taking the lessons with them. I believed in God and in His son, Jesus Christ but everything else I'd been introduced to seemed kind of hazy. My mom began to take the lessons with the missionaries when I was in eighth grade and I wasn't interested but I ended up sitting in on one of the lessons and what they taught made perfect sense to me. They explained the plan of salvation to me and it was clear. I knew that if I did my best to be my best that I could have the chance to live with God again. I liked the idea having agency and being on earth to learn and progress on our constant pursuit to perfection. The gospel is simple, definitely not easy, but incredibly worth it. I am a Mormon because I know this is where true happiness lies, even in hard times. I know that in hard times I am not alone because I have the love of God and Christ. Being Mormon isn't a chore but a choice, one of the best choices I have yet to make.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to be genuinely kind and respectful to everyone I come in contact with. Everyone is special in the eyes of God, so why not in mine? In church I am in charge of organizing activities once a week with another friend where about 10 of us get together to enjoy each others company as we practice activities that we would like to do with our future families. Our church centers around the family and it doesn't hurt to practice working with different personalities in different settings as we improve relationships. The most important relationship in my life is the one that I have with God, I believe that prayer is something that should be done often in a private setting. I know that if I sincerely pray with God that I will feel His love and guidance in my life. In addition to prayer we materials that we can study like the Bible and the Book of Mormon. When I consistently study them and apply the principles in my life I am much happier with the choices I make. I live my faith by choosing to be a little bit better every day.
