Hi I'm Kylie Guthrie

I'm a photographer, a math major and an athlete. I'm a missionary in the Great California Ventura Mission, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am the oldest in my family and I have two younger siblings. I have been blessed with two parents who love me and have blessed my life. I love taking pictures, singing, reading, and laughing. I love to be happy and I always try to have a smile on my face. My biggest goal in life is to serve and uplift those around me and bring joy to others. I was an athlete all throughout high school and basketball is one of my passions. I am a missionary and I love sharing my beliefs with the people I come in contact with. When I have completed my mission I hope to be able to return to school and finish my degree in math education, and eventually coach at the high school level.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings me true joy and happiness. When I was younger I found myself going to church every week, but I rarely said my prayers or read my scriptures. As I got older I realized I was unhappy with the way my life was going, and I wanted to find that everlasting joy that I have heard so many people talk about. I decided that if I was going to change I needed to continue going to church every week, read my scriptures daily, and pray to my Heavenly Father day and night. I have experience the peace and the joy that comes from following our Savior and doing the things He did, and I have seen and experienced the pain that comes from choosing another path. I am not restricted by the commandments we have, rather they set me free. I have found out for myself that Heavenly Father knows me as an individual and the only thing He desires is for me to have all that He has. I am not claiming that life is easy and I never experience pain or heartache, it is actually quite the opposite. I do know without a doubt that the Gospel of Jesus Christ improves the quality of our lives and can bring us more joy than we ever thought possible. It is through the Atonement of Jesus Christ that we can live with our Heavenly Father again. How great is this knowledge!

How I live my faith

I have served as the president in young women's classes and have learned how to work with others.I helped organize a big new year's eve dance and was in charge of getting the decorations ordered and hung up. Throughout high school I was part of the National Honor Society and was able to participate in various service projects, most of them helping the community in some way. Throughout my life I have tried my best to be an example to others. I try to share what I know with my friends and I include those around me.
