Hi I'm Eric

I moved around a lot growing up, student at BYU-I in Mechanical Engineering; have 1 yr left, now on a mission in Japan.

About Me

I moved quite a bit when growing up; never really stayed in a place for a year. My dad didn't do well in different places so we moved a lot. each time we moved, the accent and language of the old area stayed and the people of the new location would complain because I didn't speak like they did; went through plenty of "speech therapy" classes in school because of that. That slowed down as the older I got because people didn't care as much how I talked as long as I spoke educated and I did as they wanted. I am now a BYU-I student. I have taken four years of college in Mechanical Engineering and have a year left before getting my bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. I want to continue on and get a master's degree in Robotics Engineering. After graduating with my master's degree, I want to teach Kindergarten through 12 grade in robotics and engineering. I love cartoons and fun little skits and games to teach kids how to become S.T.E.M. students. I also want to have an entrepreneur hobby were I build and sell mechs, robots, toys, etc. online. I am going on a mission to the Sapporo Japan mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. I didn't go as a youth, but I'm going now. I want to serve the Lord. I'm taking 2 years off from school to help the Lord

Why I am a Mormon

I know there is a God because I know He loves me as well as everyone. I know there is a devil because I know he hates all and wants to make us miserable. I know God gave us commandments to help us, not to be mean to us, but for us to not be mean to others and ourselves. I know God gave us prophets, not to dictate and rule, but to serve the lord and the people to bring us all together. I know God gave us sacred, holy scriptures, not to punish us, but to know God and not forget the past. I know God gave us assembly (religion & church) to know him and direct us to his love. I know these things did not stop after Christ past away. Satan has not stopped hurting us and foiling us. God has not stopped loving us and giving us his word through the Holy Ghost. If God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow: why would he stop giving us scripture, prophets, commandments, and assembly to bring us closer to him and his love? I have read The Book of Mormon through several times. It focuses towards Christ, His atonement, and God's love through the whole book. It's another testament of Christ as like the Bible and is the record of the people in the America's. I know this to be true because of the Lord would not give himself to only one people. He loves everyone, would share His gospel and love around the globe. I know this to be true because every time I read The Book of Mormon, I feel God's love and his efforts to show it. The Book of Mormon holds all the testimonies of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints to be the one and true church. Later Day prophets, commandments, scripture, and assembly are supported by this book in The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints to show God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. The church is all founded upon Christ, his atonement, and his love for us to be fully happy.

How I live my faith

I read the Book of Mormon every day and strive to write something I had learned from the scriptures. I've learned that the more I write and read the scriptures as a tool, the more they become a jewel. I can't say I'm Bible literate, but I have read the whole Bible once. I'm pretty proud of that. As I'm soon to become a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints, I try read scripture daily, pray daily, get out of my comfort zone to talk to people, and study as much as I can about the gospel and the culture of Japan for my mission. I love the gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints, because it's given me hope and strength. I love spending time with family and bringing us closer together as well as to Christ. Everything about the gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints is centered around Christ and family. This bring great joy to my life as well as the lives of other people.
