Hi I'm Mary

I'm a wife and a mother. I'm an Oregonian at heart who loves the rain. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom to three young, busy children and a wife to my wonderful friend. I love to work with my little ones each day as they are growing, exploring and becoming their own individual children of God. I enjoy being outside, working in the yard, camping, running, etc. I love family history and learning about the great people who lived before me, worked hard and sacrificed so I could be where I am today. I also enjoy reading, sewing and learning new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I have two wonderful parents who were introduced to and joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when they were young adults. They worked and sacrificed much to teach each of their five daughters about the truths they discovered when they became Mormon. I believed and tried my best to live the teachings I saw bring them much joy and satisfaction. One day, as I was speaking with an employer about the church, I realized that I needed to learn for myself if the things I had been taught were true. I began studying the life of Christ and the Book of Mormon. I have felt a great peace woven into my life as I have tried to become more like him through his atoning power. As I read the scriptures, studied the words of the prophets and knelt in prayer, I found my questions being answered in the words I read. I have felt witnessed to me time and again that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Jesus Christ's church that He leads today through our prophets. It is not the church of Joseph Smith or Thomas Monson, but that Jesus Christ is the one who guides the work of the prophets and apostles, through revelation. He does this so I, and all others willing to follow the precepts given us, will find the greatest happiness and treasures found in this life.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith each day by becoming more like my Savior and acting as he would in each situation I am in. Some days I fail miserably, but I am grateful for the times I feel his influence in making me a better person. I spend a lot of my time with my children so I get to live my faith through teaching them about a Savior who loves them and in trying to be an example to them. I also love to work with the young people in our church. I get to be with the 14 and 15 year old girls from our congregation a few times each week and I am so impressed by their dedication to becoming better people. They make mistakes, just like I have and continue to, but I know the Lord sees each of their great potentials and has helped me to see the same. I am grateful for the opportunity to support and love them.
