Hi I'm Sarah Concidine

I am 20 years old. I am serving a mission in Hermosillo, Mexico for 18 months! And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have completed a year and a half of college at Brigham Young University--Idaho. I am a Psychology major with an emphasis in Industrial/Organizational Psych and a minor in Business. I have 3 younger sisters who I adore and one older brother who is serving a mission. I worked really hard and got scholarships that allowed me to go to college and I'm so grateful for that. I enjoy running! And I recently started doing Pilates which is so fun. I was a softball player for many years. I also enjoy spending quality time with my family and my friends. I love the beach! I like music, writing, cooking, and dancing as well. I'm super down to earth; I love meeting new people, making friends, having close relationships with people. I am now a missionary serving in Hermosillo, Mexico!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the gospel, and I'm so grateful for that! Although I was raised in the church, I didn't always appreciate it or have a testimony of my own. However, the love of Jesus Christ has softened my heart and turned me to Him. I strengthened my testimony in different ways as I grew up and am still strengthening it now. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God, it is another testament of Jesus Christ. Its words give me counsel and direction in my life. When I read, I feel strengthened and happy! I have a testimony of modern day prophets. I know all they counsel and testify of are correct, and their words are the directions from the Savior. I have a great testimony of my Savior Jesus Christ and His Atoning Sacrifice for me, and for the whole world. I have felt the power of the Atonement in my life and it has made me clean, and it helps me each day to be a better person; more of the person my Heavenly Father wants me to be. I have felt the Spirit testify to me at church and in my times of need. I know this is Jesus Christ's true church.

How I live my faith

I currently volunteer to go out with the missionaries in my city once every week. I also help teach a girl with disabilities about Jesus Christ and His gospel. I try to be an example to all those around me, not just through spreading my faith, but by being a good person with sound morals and helpful, caring words and actions. I am one my friends can call if they ever need a ride somewhere or if they need someone to talk to. I love my sisters so much and I try to be a good example and let my testimony inspire and motivate them.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Sarah Concidine
We do believe we are saved by grace! We thank our Savior Jesus Christ every day for His infinite and eternal sacrifice that gives us all the gift of eternal life. There is no possible way we could make it back to our Father in Heaven without Jesus Christ's atonement--no matter what we did in this life. He is the ultimate source of our salvation. He paid for our sins, so that we could repent and become clean again. With that said, we also believe that we must follow Christ's example and His teachings through our actions here on Earth to gain salvation and exaltation. This means, we must not only believe, but act on our beliefs. We must have faith, and act in faith. We must repent for our sins, and ask God for forgiveness. We must make an effort to change and never do that sin again. We should be striving to live a life pleasing to God. We must complete the ordinances that Christ performed on Earth: baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and ordinances in the temple. While we try to be like Christ, we will never become perfect. It's impossible--in this life. But because of the grace of Jesus Christ, as we try every day, we will one day be able to become like Him.
