Hi I'm Stephanie

I am a single mother of three. I have a passion for non-profit work. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the proud mother of three children who have all taken a magnificent path in their lives and who are all very active in the church. My daughter is in the primary presidency, my son is on a mission, and my youngest is the president of his quorum. I have been a single mom for 15+ years now and my kids are everything to me. We love visiting the beach, going out to dinner, watching movies, and visiting amusement parks. I have a bachelors degree in Mass Communications and have worked in the non-profit field for several years. My goal someday is to be able to not have to work and become a "professional" volunteer. There are so many great causes out there that I would love to lend my time and expertise to if I didn't also have the responsibility of bringing home a paycheck!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in an often inactive house which was hard since I was a "Utah" Mormon. I am a Mormon because I want to be! I have moved all over this country and been welcomed by ward members no matter the city we were in. It is so comforting to know that wherever you are the church has built in friends for you to make. I am now living in a large town where the LDS members are out-numbered which I believe increases the love and support between us. I am very proud to be a Mormon and I plan to continue to live His teachings forever.

How I live my faith

After raising my kids in small town Idaho we decided to make a big change and in 2010 moved to sunny Florida. This was a leap of faith for us and was preceded by a lot of both family and individual prayers. In Idaho we had a home of our own, I had a job that payed well and I loved, and my kids were rooted in the school system. However, despite all of that we were led to believe that moving is what we should do. We sold or gave away 99% of everything we owned and drove cross-country to rental home we had only seen pictures of and no job lined up. It has been a financial struggle in Florida however our faith in the Lord and His church has grown tremendously. We went from being an often inactive family to attending church weekly. I am now a full tithe payer and a temple recommend holder which I hadn't been in Idaho. I also have a son who is currently serving a full time mission. I believe with all my heat that had we stayed in Idaho we would not spiritually be where we are today. I am still struggling financially and have yet to find an ideal job however I am blessed each day by the kindness and support of others. I find peace while attending the temple and each time I pay my tithing. I know He is watching over me and my family and that He is very proud of what we have become.
