Hi I'm Tom McCloud

I live in Arizona, have a great wife, 4 kids, 2 grandkids, a dog Missy, love tinkering on Bus RV's and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a family man, geek and gadget guy. I retired from nearly 30 years in high tech and am enjoying more time with the family and my wife. I love to work on and use our bus RV. My wife and I have 4 great kids, a son-in-law and 2 grandkids . I love spending more time with them. I served in the United States Air Force and then used the GI Bill to go to 7 years of university getting a Bachelors of Electrical Engineering followed by an MBA. I spent many years traveling for work and am glad to not get on airplanes anymore and to eat home cooking.

Why I am a Mormon

I am grateful to have been loved into the Mormon church by a dear friend while I was in the Air Force. I had grown up attending a Lutheran Church and had great experiences there but felt like something was missing. Having seen my Mom and Dad divorce and the same for an older sibling, I decided I needed to find something that would make my future marriage stable. I started looking at different Churches. My room mate had recently become Mormon and through 3 years of him being patient and loving, I joined the Church. The idea of being together for time and all eternity with my with my wife and family is something I believe with all my heart. I was not a likely person to come into the Church. It wasn't a fast process and I took my time to be sure it was something I knew I should do. I tell you I know it was the right thing to do and has been a blessing to me and my family.

How I live my faith

I have learned a great deal about service from my wife. She is an example to me of how to serve others with no expectation of getting anything in return and out of just plain ol caring. I have served in many positions in our church but none as important as being a Father and Husband. I have been active in the community by being on a School Board, City and University Advisory Boards, a State level Commission and have enjoyed each of them.
