Hi I'm Joshua

I was born and raised in Thousand Oaks, CA. I love surfing, snowboarding, rugby, and the outdoors. I live in Canada. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 21 years old. I was born and raised in southern California. I love to surf, mountain bike, rock climb, snowboard, you name it. I enjoy traveling, and learning new things. I love being outside. I love hard work, and I love having fun. I have taken two years of schooling towards my associates degree. I come from a family of 6, with three younger brothers. I love my family. I am currently serving a mission in the Canada Calgary Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, which gave me a strong foundation of who God is and what my purpose in life is. It wasn't until I was a teenager that I knew that this was the true church. I have had many struggles in my life which have opened up endless opportunities for me to grow closer to my Father in Heaven. I know that He is real, He is always listening, and is ready to bless us. I know that the Book of Mormon is scripture written by prophets who were called of God. I know that the accounts of Jesus Christ visiting the people in the Book of Mormon are true. I love 3 Nephi 17. In this chapter Jesus Christ shows us how much he loves us and that he does care about us. I know that this is the true church. I know that God loves us today just as much as he did back during the time of Christ and the bible, and because he loves us all the same he has restored his church back again on this earth today.

How I live my faith

I consider the opportunity to be here on earth, learn new things, and experience life, a blessing from my Heavenly Father. Everything that I do and say shows my Heavenly Father how much I love him and appreciate the gifts he has given me. I strive everyday to improve my life and be at least just a little bit better then I was the previous day. I choose to live the way I do. What a great gift that is for all of us, the ability to choose. To have the ability to live the life that we want. The life that we know is best for us. A life centered around God. The life that will bring others closer to God, and the life that our Father in Heaven wants us to live. I constantly look for ways to strengthen others, ways to serve, opportunities to love and to build friendships. I am currently serving as a Missionary for the church in the Calgary Canada Mission. The opportunity to share the gospel with people around me, from people that don't believe in God, to people that have different beliefs, to people that are searching for answers but don't know where to look, is such a rewarding experience. I get to see change in people. I gets to see many things that this gospel brings into their life, especially as people realize their purpose in this life. Being a member of Christ's church is an opportunity to be an example. To help all rejoice in the knowledge that there is a purpose to this life, that we do have a Father in Heaven who loves us, that God answers prayers, that Jesus is the Christ and the one who atoned for our sins which provides us with the one and only way to be able to return to live with God after this life. I live my faith by becoming more like Jesus Christ.
