Hi I'm Troy Johnson

Hi, I am a husband and father of 5. I work as a statistician in pharmaceutical research. I am Mormon.

About Me

My 5 children range in age from 10 to 23. I live in Utah. I love the beauties of nature. I am a cancer survivor and feel very blessed just to be alive. As a professional statistician I am considered a nerd. Because of my career, I was very aware that my chances of surviving cancer were very poor. On the other hand, I knew that through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, all things are possible.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a wonderful home. My mother was always a member of the Church, but my father joined when I was a young man. Although, I have grown up as a Mormon, I was not always sure that I believed the teachings of the Church. When I was 18, I prayerfully read The Book of Mormon. There is a promise in that book, that those who will read and pray about it will be a blessed to know that it is a true book. It took me awhile, but I finally made it known to God that if He would manifest the truth to me, I would dedicate myself to living it. Once I was sincere about that desire, God made it known to me that The Book of Mormon is true. Because of that I know that the true Church of Jesus Christ is on the earth today, led by prophets. It has blessed my life tremendously. I hope anyone reading this will sincerely read The Book of Mormon and pray to know if it is true.

How I live my faith

In my ward (congregation) I am a High Priests Group Leader. I lead a group of about 55 men. High Priests are usually older men that have some experience serving in the church. It is a joy to work with this group because so many of them are willing to serve in any capacity with little notice. For example, we have had several families move into new homes in this area. We often organize sod laying "parties". We can get 50 people together and cover a half-acre lot in grass in less than an hour. Great things can be accomplished when so many are willing to serve.
