Hi I'm Amy

I live in the United States and I am a mother of 5 young children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from college with a major in Animal Science. I worked for 4 years in product marketing before getting married and having kids. Now I am a stay at home mom for 5 children, ages 8, 6, 4, 2, and 11 months. I love all things food (cooking, eating, etc) and I especially love learning about healthy cooking and eating. If I had more time for hobbies at this moment, I would dance, dance, and then dance some more. Country dancing, west coast swing, and clogging are among my favorites and I secretly wish I could be a modern dancer. I also love to create better living environments (currently I mostly do this in my imagination). I'm always coming up with ideas of how to transform rooms to be better places to live.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon, but it wasn't until I was in college that I really grew a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. My testimony grew as I allowed myself to be fully submerged in the gospel. I worked hard to be active in my local church, to pray and read scriptures daily, to attend the temple, and to make good choices every day. As I did and as I do these things continuously, I am filled with love and hope and a knowledge that I am doing good things. My testimony of this gospel is made up of testimonies of all of the pieces of the gospel, similar to a puzzle. I have a testimony of the Book of Mormon. I have read it many times and I know that is the word of God and that he has given us this book to guide and help us. I have a testimony of Jesus Christ. I know that he loves me and that it is through his Atonement that I can be forgiven of my sins AND that I can be helped and strengthened to be better in every way. I have a testimony of a living prophet today - President Thomas S. Monson. I know he is a prophet of God. These are just a few of the many facets of my testimony. I have been richly blessed over my life with experiences that have taught me that God is real and that he loves me. All of these experiences add up to mean that I am firmly fixed in my testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and that I want to give my all to this cause of truth. I have no doubt in my mind about these things and I am so grateful to God for allowing me to be a part of them.

How I live my faith

My faith is my life. Most of the decisions I make on a daily basis center around my faith. I am recently trying every day to see opportunities to help others around me, as well as share the gospel of Jesus Christ. In my local church, I teach a 12 year old Sunday school class every week. I like it because it forces me to study specific gospel topics every week. I am also what is called a visiting teacher. I have been assigned to two women in my city and I visit them at least once a month to share a spiritual message with them and to see how I can help them.
