Hi I'm Brooke

I have lived in Utah for my whole life. I love to read, write, and draw. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

About me? Hmm... Well, I was born and raised in Utah to loving parents. I am the oldest of three kids. I worked in Alaska after my high school graduation to earn money for college and to prepare for my LDS mission. It helped me grow and become more independent. Not to mention that I played the BIGGEST prank on my family by sending fake engagement announcements. I may be quiet and shy, but I love to be sarcastic and joke around. Now I am preparing to leave to Mexico for my LDS mission. I love to read, give me a book and I won't be seen for hours if it hooks me. Some of the books I like are Harry Potter, Pride and Prejudice, Crime and Punishment, The Book Thief, but the most important books to me, of all time, are The Book of Mormon and The Bible. I read them as much as possible, which is daily because it is possible. I also love to write and I plan on publishing a book (or more) sometime in my life. I also love to cook, but it depends on my mood. If I am not found doing the above I can be found watching the movies that make me happy... so Disney, Pride and Prejudice, and Disney. I also love to fish with my dad when it is possible (best fishing was in Alaska though). However, I don't like to eat fish..oops.. oh well, I like fishing. I love to hike. And that is basically me in a watered down nutshell.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up surrounded in the Mormon faith my whole life. I watched miracles happen in my mom's life, the example adults set for me, and listened to everyone. I believed my whole life that The Book of Mormon was true, that the church was true. But when I was 12 I became curious to know for myself. So, I read The Book of Mormon and after prayed to know if it was true. My response was clear. I immediately knew, and got a filling like "You're really asking? You already know." After that I felt such peace, joy, and warmth. I know it is the true word of God and that you can know of its truth by reading, pondering, and praying about it. I promise that you will know as long as you have a desire to know if it is true. I know that Joseph Smith was a true modern day prophet. That by the power of God he was able to translate the Book of Mormon, which is another testament of Jesus Christ and of the ancient people of the Americas. And I know that there is a living prophet on this earth today, Thomas S. Monson. Who receives direct revelation from God to help guide us in our lives. I believe in a loving Heavenly Father, who sent His son, Jesus Christ, to this earth to redeem mankind for their sins and mistakes. I know that we can be forgiven through Jesus Christ's sacrifice. So that we can have the opportunity to live with Him again after this earth life. I know that I am a child of God, and you are too. He loves each and every one of us and wants the best for us. I believe that the Godhead is made up of three separate beings (all having ONE purpose), Heavenly Father, His son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. I know that Jesus Christ lived on this earth and died for us. I know that families can be together forever through the sacred ordinances of the temple and obeying the Lord's commandments. I know that we were sent to this earth to chose for ourselfves. To gain a body and have joy. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true restored church of God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by actively going to church, reading the Book of Mormon every night, and striving to be the best I can be. I try to act the way I know my Heavenly Father would want me to act. I love to help people, so I try my best to help all those I can. I dress modestly, don't drink/smoke, and I refrain from swearing always. In doing so I have found that I am so much happier with my life. I have also been called to serve as an LDS missionary in the México Tijuana Mission. My religion is everything to me. So I make sure I live my life in accordance to it.
