Hi I'm Andre Kemeny

I was born in Brazil, grew up in Indiana, live in Utah, am a father of 4 kids, have a wonderful wife, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Brazil and when I was 4 years old, moved to the United States with my family. I grew up in Indiana, and went to school at Purdue University, where I met my wife. I studied Electrical and Biomedical Engineering there and worked in the medical device industry before deciding to go back to school at the University of Utah (MBA and MHA degrees). When I was 19, I served a two year full time mission for the LDS church in the Johannesburg, South Africa Mission which, at that time, included part of South Africa, Botswana, and Mozambique. I served in all three countries and loved the people I met, the culture, the food, and the beauty of Africa. I would love to go back someday and to visit all the friends I made. I currently work in Salt Lake City in Healthcare Consulting and love being a husband and a father. I have a beautiful wife who is one of the smartest people I know and have four amazing children. They make me smile and give me the drive to want to do what's right.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when I was born. When I was young, I went to church because they taught me to go. I believed what they believed because it was all I ever knew. However, as I grew up, I realized that I wanted my beliefs to be my own. I'm a Mormon today because of the way I feel when apply gospel teachings in my life. I'm a Mormon because of the feelings I have when I listen to a living prophet, Pres. Monson. I'm a Mormon because of the hope that I feel that I can one day return to live with my Heavenly Father and be with my family forever.

How I live my faith

My faith is central to how I strive to live my life. What I have learned through some of my experiences is that it's really about trying to make progress everyday through action. I sincerely believe that one of the greatest purposes of our lives on this earth is to learn and grow. One of my favorite scriptures from the Book of Mormon is: "And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them." - Ether 12:27 I truly believe that by following Christ's example and through His Atonement, we can change, learn, and progress. I really enjoy going to church to see and socialize with friends. But, I get the most out of church when I try to apply what I learned during church to my everyday life during the week. As I do this and try to work on my weaknesses in this manner, I find that I'm able to make small positive strides in my life. I've noticed that as I consistently follow this pattern, I'm able to improve.
