Hi I'm Lindsey Ketchum

Im an adventure seeking, risk taking, life loving optimist and im a Mormon.

About Me

I love anything and everything that has to do with the great outdoors. I attended school at BYU Hawaii and loved every second of it! The beach is my happy place and nature is where my heart lies. Im always seeking for new adventures and new opportunities to live life to the fullest! I have hopes of traveling the world and seeing what else life has to offer, I started with traveling to Thailand for the summer to fulfill my dream of riding an elephant. I get to spend the next 18 months fulfilling the great commission and serving as a full time missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Richmond Virginia! Im so blessed to have 4 crazy brothers and better parents than anyone could ask for. A day without laughter is a day wasted :)

Why I am a Mormon

For me, i was blessed to be born into this church, but that is not why i am a mormon; I am a mormon by choice. growing up my parents always took me to church every sunday, but it was not until i was older that I actually gained a testimony of my own. As a teenager you make a lot of choices that will determine who you are. It was around that time that I became very aware of the person I wanted to be and what was going on around me. as I watched many friends of mine struggle with poor choices they may have been making and as I watched their happiness slowly fade, it was at that time that I knew I didnt want that for myself. I was determined to find happiness and peace in my life and i realized that the place i felt that the most was in my own church. I then became more involved with church activities that were going on and talking to different members of my church and hearing their stories, and all of this helped me gain my own testimony and realize the joy and peace that my church brought into my life. As i sit here today I still could not be happier to have the mormon gospel in my life. I reflect back on my life and on the many blessings and miracles i have encountered, and know without a doubt in my mind that our savior Jesus Christ is responsible for every single one of them. Through prayer and scripture I have been able to overcome my most difficult trials and discover more peace and joy than i have ever felt. I am so grateful for what being a mormon has brought into my life and am optimistic and anxious about what my future holds as being a member of this church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving and serving those around me. I think there is great power in just living what you believe and loving others for who they are. Everyone has a different story and has something you can learn from them, so I try to take advantage of that as much as possible. I haven't always made the best choices in my life, but the closer I follow this gospel, the greater joy and peace I can feel in my life. I love my savior Jesus Christ with all my heart and I know his atonement is real. I try to live my life in a way that my Heavenly Father is proud of me, I fall short every single day but am so grateful for the love I feel from him despite of my imperfections.
