Hi I'm Marshall

I love the Scriptures. I love to exercise, watch movies and play the guitar. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah. I have a brother who is five years younger than me. My family moved to Virginia when I was nine because my father obtained a job for the U.S. Government. Two years later we moved to Pennsylvania and that is where I have really grown up. My parents divorced three years ago. I recently Graduated from High School and am planning on attending College to study Exercise Science/ Physical Therapy and minoring in music. I would also like to study Spanish. I want to travel the world to see many historical places and scenic views. I have a very long list of places and things I want to see! I love to exercise and play all kinds of sports, they help me to relieve the stress that life brings. I love any kind of music from Death Metal to classical music. Music has helped me to connect to my past, to history, and to my deepest feelings. My biggest hobby is playing the guitar. I love challenging myself to learn many different types of music on the guitar. It is truly one of my greatest passions. I love to help other people in anyway that I can. I enjoy being with my friends and meeting new people. My family is very important to me and I strive to be a good example to my little brother. I have had many challenges in life - as has every person- and I strive to overcome them and to become better.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Which does not make it any easier! I grew up in the church and never really questioned it. But the point came when I had to decide if the faith I had been living was real. This is when I had to really exercise my faith for the first time. I read The Book of Mormon, and I resorted to the greatest source of truth and light that exists (God) in order to really know if what I had been a part of my entire life was true or just a fancy imitation of truth. I read the book with "real intent" to know if it is true (For a testimony of the truths of God will not come to the soul, heart or mind that is not willing to receive it). I put into practice the promise found in The Book of Mormon, prayed to God, and came to know of its truthfulness through the power of the Holy Ghost. I have applied this powerful concept with the principles of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ that I teach everyday. By the power of the Holy Ghost I know that God the Father and His son Jesus Christ restored their church on the earth through a prophet as they have always done. I know that God speaks to us today through a prophet and through prayer. He is not dead, Christ lives. And He is guiding His church and helping us to know that He is the same "yesterday, today, and forever".

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When at home I lived my faith in many ways. I did community service at home and all that I have learned for myself and lived has helped me be a better person, a better friend and know what is most important in life.

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Marshall
The Growth of the Church should be accredited to God the Eternal Father and His son Jesus Christ. When Jesus Christ appeared to and taught people in the Americas about 33 AD, he taught " Verily I say unto you, that ye are built upon my gospel; therefore ye shall call whatsoever things ye do call, in my name; therefore if ye call upon the Father, for the church, if it be in my name the Father will hear you; And if it so be that the church is built upon my gospel then will the Father show forth his own works in it" (3 Nephi 27:9-10) The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is so-named because it is His church. It is only logical that God would hasten His work in His church. He has done so through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ personally, through the ministering of Angels, and through Modern-day Revelation. But not only has our God reached out Himself through His son Jesus Christ, but we have done it. As humans we all have desires. And the desire of the human soul is to find peace and comfort in this life and the life to come. This desire in any human soul must be accompanied by personal effort and action. The truths of The Gospel of Jesus Christ can and will help any person, in any situation, in any lifestyle, at any time. Because of that people act on their desire for spiritual sustenance and find Gods truths. We as Gods children are helping Christs church to grow because of our faith and actions. Show more Show less
