Hi I'm Lizzie

I'm a student, daughter, musician, future missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second oldest of eight children in my family. My siblings are my best friends. I love playing the guitar and the piano, as well as writing music. I am a college student and have a year left before i obtain my degree in Political Science and Economics, but I have currently put that on hold as I am preparing to serve a mission. I love jogging, rock climbing, reading, laughing, and spending time with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 5 years old my little brother and I were placed into foster care. Our foster parents were members and would bring us with them to church every Sunday. As time went on I grew to love my Savior, the gospel, my ward members and the feeling of peace that came with attending church every Sunday. In primary we were learning a lot about baptism as most of the kids in my class were preparing to take that very important step in their lives. One day while the missionaries were over for dinner I had decided that I had wanted to be baptized. I wanted it more than anything else in the world. Since I was in foster care we had to get permission from the State in order to go through with it, and that took longer than we had anticipated. While we waited I was encouraged to take the Missionary discussions and I loved every second of those lessons. On my 8th birthday I was able to be baptized as a member of the church and I have never regretted that decision since. As a young child I loved knowing that there was a loving Father in Heaven that I could pray to whenever I needed to. Someone who would listen and answer me. I loved the feeling of belonging that the church offered. Since then my relationship with my father in heaven has grown tremendously and I cant wait for it to continue to grow more than I can imagine now. I love the teachings and principles that the church teaches. I love the feeling that being apart of this church brings me. I can't feel it anywhere else. God has our best interests at heart and understands what we feel and what we go through. I know that through the gospel we can experience true happiness and that it will prepare for us to live with our father in heaven again. I know that this church is true. This gospel has given me greater happiness and joy on earth than anything ever before.

How I live my faith

I love attending church every Sunday. It's a great way to spiritually recharge after a long week and catch up with good friends. I've been blessed to have the opportunity to teach in the Primary. I currently teach the 8 year old class and I absolutely adore my class. I try to find opportunities to serve those around me. I believe that service is very important way to show our love for our fellow men as well as for our Savior. I strive to be better than I was the day before. This gospel emphasizes the need for each of us to be constantly working to improve ourselves through our own efforts and through reliance on others and our Savior.
