Hi I'm Katrina

I'm an English Major. I work in a bakery. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am twenty years old and finished two years of university studying English. I have a love for languages. Luckily, I get to learn a new language when I leave for my mission to Romania this coming January. Romanian will be the fourth language I've studied extensively. I like to eat popcorn, play Catan, watch Napoleon Dynamite, and hang out with my wonderful family. I have three older brothers, two sisters in law, one beautiful niece and two nephews. Lastly, I love to laugh and make others laugh. It can really brighten a day.

Why I am a Mormon

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because it brings me such joy to follow the teachings of Christ. I believe that the church of ancient times has been restored in our time in its fullness, and that we have prophets today that help us to keep on the path. I believe and rely on the healing power of the atonement and I believe that true repentance brings us peace. I believe that my Savior and Redeemer paid the price for my short comings and that He will come again and I try my hardest to be my best self so that I can stand at the judgement day and be satisfied with the life that I chose to lead.

How I live my faith

I love to go to church. I worked in the church library for a year, and it was a lot of fun! I also taught Primary for a year, first for kids aged three-four, which could be a handful sometimes, and then to my terrific class of kids aged eight-nine. It was such a great experience teaching those smart and clever kids. We always started class with a huddle, and that always got everyone giggling. In addition to teaching Primary, I was on the planning committee for Young Single Adults. We planned activities, large conferences and dances, firesides, devotionals, service projects, and dinners. I really loved being behind the scenes on how things got planned, and I got to meet a lot of really neat people at the activities that we organized. I also attend Institute every Thursday night during the school year, which is a class for young adults and we learn about gospel topics and study the scriptures together.
