Hi I'm Troy

I'm a geographer, I love the outdoors, i'm a passionate soccer fan and a future missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born into a faithful family here in Southwestern Ontario. I have always grown up with a love of school and sports. I absolutely love what I study and am extremely passionate about the good it can do in this world. I am a big European football fan and passionately support Liverpool F.C. I love hiking, biking, canoeing, tennis and soccer and hanging out with friends. I will be serving as a full time missionary for the church in the Portugal Lisbon Mission later on this year.

Why I am a Mormon

Being born in the church, I lived a lot of my life believing it was true and not really questioning it. Eventually, trials hit my life and for the first time I applied the Atonement of Jesus Christ into my life and the change was night to day. I remember the joy that filled my soul by the Holy Ghost when I knew I was forgiven of my sins. It was the most deep, gratifying feeling I have ever felt and I knew then 100% that this gospel was true. That incredible joy came back to be as I attended church and read from the Book of Mormon. The gospel has caused a complete change of heart in my life. I also feel a much greater love for all of God's children. I want to being them the same joy that I feel. I want to be in the celestial kingdom with my father in heaven and I want everyone else to be there with me. I went from believing the church was true to knowing the church was true, because my testimony came from the spirit. I can say from personal experience that true happiness in this life can't come from anything except the full gospel of Jesus Christ. I am eternally grateful for the decision my Abuela made to be the first baptized member of my family. Without her decision, I would not be a member today and would not have experienced the blessings that can only come from this gospel. I can't wait to bring the gospel to the Portuguese people and see the changes and happiness that will enter into their lives and families' lives because of it.

How I live my faith

Daily scripture study, prayer and regular church attendance are huge parts of my life and keep me converted to the gospel. I have been serving in a stake youth calling for a few years and I absolutely love interacting with the youth, and seeing them progress in the gospel. I try to go teaching with the local missionaries as much as possible.
