Hi I'm Jayde

I'm most definitely a Mormon.

About Me

I am studying Psychology right now with the hopes of one day using my knowledge to help others. I come from a wonderful family of eight and love the time I get to spend with them. I love books, sun, music, laughter, movies, boredom, cacti, and concerts. I am an amateur potter, runner, photographer, pianist, and ukuleleist. I treasure the moments the make up my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I’m a Mormon because I know for myself that this is the true church. There came a time in my life when I had to stop living through the testimonies of others and more fully rely on my own. I needed to find out if this was the true church before I continued to be a part of it. With the help of a loving Heavenly Father and the people He has placed in my life, I know that this is His church. I’m a Mormon because I believe in a God who would not abandon us, but continue to provide direction through living prophets. I am grateful to live in a time where I can turn to the words of Prophets and Apostles whenever I need to. I’m a Mormon because this gospel brings me happiness and joy that cannot be found elsewhere. I know it is no coincidence that when I am more fully aligning my will with God’s, I am happier, kinder, and healthier. I don’t know where’d I’d be without the comfort that this gospel brings me, but I’m sure I'’m in a better place because of it. This church and its teachings have made me a better version of myself. I’m a Mormon because the knowledge I get from this church provides me with direction and purpose. I know that I can have a happy and fulfilling life so long as I continue to obey God’s commandments and turn to Him for guidance. I’m a Mormon because I've seen the way the Atonement can transform a person’s life. I have felt the healing power that comes from Christ’s sacrifice, and I know that nobody is exempt from this gift. I’m a Mormon because I cannot deny the confirmation I have received. To live my life any other way would mean living a lie. By being a member of this church, I am being honest with myself and others.

How I live my faith

Day by day; little by little. I believe it is through the small and simple things that my testimony grows. I rely on the simple truths I know to help me with what I don’t. I attend church ready to learn and ready to teach. I appreciate what others have to say and believe that with their unique experiences, beliefs, and testimonies, everybody has something insightful to offer.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Jayde
A testimony, to me, is a personal set of beliefs that shapes the way we live our lives. It is gained through unique experiences and a spiritual witness from the Holy Ghost. We build our testimonies on the key principles of the gospel, and we strengthen our testimonies by sharing them through word and action. Show more Show less
