Hi I'm Jerry Marvin Schroer

I was born in Fresno California, grew up in Bakersfield CA. Married with 6 children. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a pharmacist from USC. I grew up in Bakersfield, CA and begin work as a glazier. I like all sports, especially golf and enjoy playing all games where I can compete. I have run 2 marathons, but am now limited with 2 artificial knees and back fusion. I live in the foothills on 10 acres of oak trees and various wildlife including rattlesnakes and mountain lions. I have 6 children and 15 grandchildren. I retired after 39 years in pharmacy and have run a home infusion company. I joined the Mormon Church while at USC after finding out my wife was LDS. We have traveled extensively and been to most parts of the world except Europe.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church while in college after my father passed away, and I needed to understand what life is about. I found out my wife was an inactive Mormon and it was logical that I speak with the Missionaries from her church. They taught me the gospel and gave me the understanding I was looking for with the bonus that my wife became active in the church. My testimony has grown over the years as I have served in various positions, but teaching 8 years of seminary convinced me of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith Jr as a prophet. Recently serving as an ordinance worker in the Fresno Temple has added to the strength of my testimony. I know this (LDS) is the true church of Jesus Christ, that he lives and I continually receive inspiration and guidance through the Holy Ghost. I know God continues to provide us with revelation and President Thomas S Monson is the prophet on the earth today and I sustain him as prophet Seer and revelator.

How I live my faith

I have served in the church since baptism in almost every position except as a Bishop. I taught Seminary students (High School Students) for 8 years and love teaching and enjoy speaking, In our community I served on the School Board for 8 years, with 3 years as board president. We live in a small community and I enjoyed being the only pharmacist for many years. I have seen patients born and die and enjoy serving them and their families.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Jerry Marvin Schroer
The best way to know your father in heaven is to pray and obey His commandments. Service will enlarge your testimony and you cannot know the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon unless you have faithfully read and prayed about it. Show more Show less
