Hi I'm Mako

I absolutely love swimming. I love to sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love swimming, I love music, I study voice as a soloist and choral member, and I love sharks. I am serving a mission in the Philippines from Aug 2017 to Aug 2019. I hope to be an Architectural Engineer. I love learning about new things and about the world I live in. One of my favorite things to learn about is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In my free time I enjoy being outdoors, swimming, listening to music, and studying the scriptures.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Throughout my youth, I have grown to love the church and the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have felt the love of my Savior and Father in Heaven. I continue in the faith because I love the people around me. One of my favorite things about being a Mormon is the belief that I can live with my family for eternity. The lessons that I learn as I study the scriptures and pray testify to me that I am blessed and have so much to be thankful for. I know that God sent his only Beloved Son, Jesus Christ, to the earth to atone for our sins. I know that the Holy Ghost can be with me wherever I go. I am a Mormon because there is no greater feeling than knowing that my Heavenly Father has a plan for me and loves me.

How I live my faith

I love serving others. Every Sunday I attend church to renew my covenants with Heavenly Father to always remember Him and stand as a witness of Jesus Christ. I read the Book of Mormon every night no matter how late at night I go to bed. Of all the things that I have read, the Book of Mormon testifies more of Christ than any other book I have read. I can learn so much from the Book of Mormon. I do not use fowl language and I strive to be an example to those around me. I treat my body like a temple by not partaking in drugs or other substances that may be harmful or addicting.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Mako
All you need is a desire to know that Mormonism is true. If you act on your desire to know if this church is true, the Holy Ghost will whisper to you that it is. Sincerely ask Heavenly Father in prayer if the church is true. Study the words of the Book of Mormon. It is another testament of the Savior Jesus Christ. I know that it is the most true book of any on the earth today. All you need is a little seed of faith. If you plant that seed, it will grow into a beautiful tree. As you read the Book of Mormon, your faith will grow as you experiment with the words contained in that sacred book. If you sincerely want to know if Mormonism is true, you will be guided to act on that desire. As you study and consider what you learn, the Holy ghost will give you feelings of inspiration in your heart. So open your heart and let your mind listen to the truth that the Holy Ghost whispers. How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Mako
Our Heavenly Father is the Father of our spirits. As our Father, He wants what is best for us: to return to live with Him. As a perfect Father, He wants us to be clean "for no unclean thing can dwell in his presence." One thing we can do to come closer to Him is to follow the greatest two commandments given by Jesus in Matthew chapter 22. One must "love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind" and "love thy neighbor as thyself." In obeying these great commandments we can have the Holy Spirit with us as a gift from our Heavenly Father. Another thing we can do is come to Him in Prayer. As a Father, He has a desire to know how His children are doing. As we pray, we should let Him know how our day went and tell Him that we are grateful for all of His tender mercies. Another thing fathers do is give advice. To me, it is impossible for Heavenly Father to ignore His children when they come to Him seeking guidance. He wants to answer our prayers to show that He is there and that He loves each one of us. If you want to grow closer to our Father in Heaven, all you have to do is get on your knees and talk to Him.
