Hi I'm Jared

I grew up in Southern California. I am an Artist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I typically try to find the funnier side of life. I believe laughter is sometimes the best medicine for some of life's trials though I recognize the importance in really trying to understand my trials for those life lessons. Its important for me to have a sense of humor, I’m fun loving, witty and compassionate when I deal with others. Currently one of my biggest trials for my wife an I is our ability to have our own family. We have infertility issues. I love the outdoors, camping, fishing, hiking, all that scouting type stuff. I love to create things and have worked in many different mediums including oil painting, digital design, photography, wood carving, wood working, metal sculpting and even some sewing. As an artist I’m constantly creating and designing, I’m typically working on 3-4 projects at once. In my career as a graphic artist, I love the design process and seek out innovative ways to graphically send a message. My creativity doesn’t end there, I enjoy working on my home and the various construction projects therein. I’ve done many different types of construction from new masonry to destroying walls and moving electrical. I also enjoy watching those DIY and HGTV shows, they always have good tips.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, graduated from seminary, became an Eagle Scout, and eventually served a mission. My testimony wasn't just given to me, I was tested. While serving my mission I was pared up with a very difficult companion, (I know I was difficult at times) though later I realized it was a test of my faith. I prayed to God and pleaded with Him to gain a stronger testimony otherwise I felt I would go home. After a few weeks of serving with this companion I found exactly what I was looking for: a love for the people I served and my companion. Nothing in my life has come easy, I'm grateful for the trials that have shaped my testimony. I love my Savior.

How I live my faith

Currently I teach the 4 year olds in primary, its a new calling, but I'm excited to begin this new adventure with them.
