Hi I'm Sierra

I grew up moving a lot. I love coaching softball. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student full time and also working. I am the oldest of four children and I grew up moving a lot for different jobs my father would take. I was one of few LDS members in my high school and I loved that I was one of the few. I love playing and learning new sports, I love movies and I always quote a line or two on the daily. I love good music and good food. I love my family and my friends, they have helped me be the person I am today.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member my whole life, I never knew much about any other religions growing up. As I grew up my testimony was what I heard my parents say their testimony was, I didn't have a testimony of mine own at this point. Going through high school as one of the few members, I was always scared to talk about the church and what we believed in. I was asked questions here and there, every time I was asked I got so nervous that I wouldn't make sense and they wouldn't ask anymore. Seminary helped me grow my testimony and learn about the scriptures. I love the atmosphere in church and my friends in church and what is cool is that no matter where you go, it is the same. yes the people are different but the church and the gospel are the same everywhere. So I knew growing up that the church will always be there for me. I went off to college and there my testimony did not dwindle, my involvement dwindled. I was not as active but when I did go I loved it. I then move to Utah with a friend and I take a year off of school and I work full time. within a year and a half my testimony has grown so much. I would like to thank my best friends for helping my figure out what my purpose is here in this life. If it wasn't for them I wouldn't have grown to show that I absolutely love this gospel with all my heart. there were many baby steps taken along the path to get my testimony to where it is. My testimony came like a sunrise, which is one of my favorite sights to see, it is nice to have that as a mental picture for myself. I have a testimony of my Savior and of my Father in Heaven, I know that He cares for me and that He does know me personally. I know I can turn to Him anytime and He will come through. I know that the people and obstacles He has placed in my life has been for me to grow and learn from. I know He lives.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through service. I am always up to help when someone asks or I see a need. My parents help put together our ward's Day of Service and I would help them and also participate on that day. I like to do the simple things because I believe the simple things are what makes the world turn. "you could give a big gift that they may never remember, but what they will remember is how you make them feel" A lot of the time something goes wrong in their world and they need to talk about it, and I like to be that ear they can turn to and lay out all their problems on. I like being that person people tell their worries too and I like helping them figure it out.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Being a Mormon is easy and very simple. We have guidelines called the Word of Wisdom, these tell us not to partake of things such as alcohol, drugs, smoking, etc. because these are addictive substances. If we are tied down to the addiction we can not live our lives to its fullest penitential. We are also big advocates of family. A lot of what we teach centers around the family because the family is a unit placed here for us to fulfill God's plan for each of us and the family members are here to help. We like to have fun and we like to feel happy and we know we can do that with being obedient to the gospel and reading the scriptures, going to church, and praying to our Heavenly Father.
