Hi I'm Chris

I grew up in a small Missouri farming community, with no members of my faith. I volunteered extensively. I'm a Mormon!!!

About Me

I like to engage myself in outdoor activities whatever they may be. Some of my favorite things to do include; Playing football (tackle or touch), Go camping, Fishing, Hunting (game or fowl), Rugby, Watching movies, Hanging out with friends, Participating in the Scouting Program (recently became and Eagle Scout) and Working on vehicles.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member my entire life, my mother has been a member her entire life so I naturally just went to church with her. I didn't really understand what it meant to be a Mormon until I moved from Utah to Missouri, I quickly noticed a change, It had come to my attention that I spent close to 15 years of my life in a sheltered Mormon community. My eyes were opened as I engaged myself into this new small town. It was hard i'm not going to lie, growing up learning about all the things we shouldn't do made me want to do them more now. I wasn't converted to the gospel yet. I started too feel a change when I participated in a youth camp called EFY (Especially For Youth). I was engaged in everyday Church activities with Youth my age! It really made a difference listening to their testimonies and opinions relating to gospel principles. I felt happy for the first time in my life, It felt like I was the most important person in the world, it was amazing. Soon after EFY ended I had to go back to my life in Missouri, I tried to say no to things that I was caught up in doing but I relapsed time and time again, the adversary wouldn't stop poking at me, making me feel insecure, depressed, and guilty. I decided to get my Patriarchal Blessing, I didn't know how the stake Patriarch knew about me so personally when I hadn't even met this man before in my life. The Blessing was so detailed in things pertaining to my life that I was searching for that I began to question what I was feeling and how I was feeling this way. I felt calm and that same Happiness I felt at EFY when I asked those questions. My life changed forever sitting in this man's house listening to the Blessing I was receiving that I began to cry with joy, not knowing why I was crying, but it felt good, after that it became easier to say no to my friends, and after I said no they respected me! It was amazing! I have never felt so good in my life than that moment.

How I live my faith

I attend my Sunday meetings, although I do not have a specific calling within my Branch, I home teach several families in the branch. I try to make it too all the activities our Branch holds such as cook-offs, Branch parties, Holiday celebrations and more! I recently put my papers in to Serve a Mission for Our Father in Heaven, I am just thrilled to share the gospel with those who are seeking it!
