Hi I'm Nate

I'm Nate. I grew up in the United States. I love martial arts. I play the guitar and sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah, United States, but I've moved around the country quite a bit and lived in Michigan and Oklahoma. I now live in Utah (again), where I've lived since 2004. I've done martial arts ever since I was a kid. I've done Chinese Kenpo Karate, Jeet Kune Do, Sayoc Kali, Lameco Escrima, some Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, some MMA (cage fighting), and one day of TaeKwonDo. Currently I am doing Muay Thai, and I even had the chance to compete in an ametuer fight in Las Vegas. I like to run and lift weights. Actually, I like any physical exercise. I also love to play the guitar and sing, even though I may not be the best at it. I like rock and alternative rock, and sometimes rap (if I'm working out). Sometimes classical music, too. I love to hang out with friends and have a good time, even if we're just sitting around talking. I'm kind of a sarcastic person, but I try not to use sarcasm to put people down. I'm going on a mission to Berlin, Germany. I report to the Missionary Training Center Jan. 8, 2014. After I serve my mission, I plan on going to college and majoring in either psychology or medical science. I didn't really develop a testimony of the church until later in high school, but through prayer, scripture study, personal experiences, and living the gospel, I was able to gain a testimony of the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have received a witness that this church is true. I've made mistakes in my past, and this church is what was able to help me get back on my feet. I live the gospel and do what the scriptures and prophets tell us to. I know that this church is true. It's true. I've seen the truth of it not only in my life but in the lives of others too. I know that God is real. I know that he sent his son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins so that we may be able to live with Him again. Our Heavenly Father love us dearly, even if he does give us trials to strengthen us. Joseph Smith did restore the gospel on this earth, and because of him we now have the priesthood, the power of God, on the earth today. We have a prophet who is called of God on this earth who tells us the will of God. Knowing and understanding these things has helped me greatly in dealing with troubles in my life. If you feel like something is missing on your life, or of you just need some peace, here it is. You've found it. Study this gospel, pray about it, and you will come to know the same things that I do. This gospel is the truth, and I know it will have as much an influence on you as it has on me.

How I live my faith

I live my religion by trying to be kind to other people and by serving others. I've held several callings in my ward as a youth, mostly in leadership positions in young men's groups. I've also been an active home teacher for most of my youth. While in these positions, I try to reach out to people in need or people who are less active. I've helped plan activities for the young men's program like camp outs and weekly activities. In general, I do what I can to support my church and those around me who may or may not be part of it.
