Hi I'm Soquel

I grew up in San Luis Obispo, CA, USA, and because of this I have an inherent love of the ocean. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Hi there! I am a single mother of 2 boys - 2 and 3 years old. My two boys keep me extremely busy, but they are pride and joy. My older boy's name is Kade, who has been diagnosed with autism. I am very blessed in that he is extremely friendly and loving. I learn new things from him everyday. I spend a lot of time learning new ways to help him. I am very involved in holistic health and healing, as I continually try to find new ways to help my son through nutritional means, as well as conventional therapy. I also find faith and hope in being a member of the lds faith. Because of my faith, I believe that one day my son will be made whole. He will be able to speak and communicate as most of us do. I believe that he is a very special son of God, and because of this he has been given limited means, in order that he might teach others, including, and especially myself. My younger son's name is Kai. He is also very dear to me. He is 2 - he and Kade are the best of friends. If one of them wakes before the other in the morning, they are anxious for the other to wake up and play. Kai repeats EVERYTHING he hears, so I must be cautious as to what I say lol!!! He is the family comedian...He keeps the smile on my face and in my heart. In our spare time, the boys and I love doing outdoor activities, especially geocaching. During my limited personal time, I love to sing, draw, write poems, play guitar, hang with friends, and be outside in some form or another.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. It gives me and teaches me what the true purpose of life really is. I get to go to church every week and be reminded of what is truly important in life.

How I live my faith

The duty I have at church (which we call a "calling"), is assistant music leader. I lead the music and make sure everyone has a hymn book to read from, or help the music leader in any way I can. I love this "calling", because I love music! It is fun to see all the smiling faces singing as I lead from the front of the room.
