Hi I'm Shayla

I was born in beautiful Cache Valley Utah, I'm currently serving in the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania mission and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Cache Valley Utah, it will forever be my home town. I attended college at Utah State prior to my mission, but put my life on hold so I could serve a full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am the oldest of five kids and come from supportive parents. I've danced for fourteen years of my life and love watching hockey.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by wonderful parents. While some say that that is the reason I am a Mormon I disagree. I am very thankful for my parents and their choice to raise me this way but I also had to make the choice for myself. My personal testimony didn't come until I was about fourteen when a friend asked me if I truly believed what I said I did, I questioned myself and soon after some of my friends started to make choices I didn't agree with and I had to find myself. In doing so I turned to prayer as my parents had taught me. I started to form my own relationship with my Heavenly Father and ask him what his plan for me was. I am a Mormon because, I know my Heavenly Father loves me, that he has a plan for me, and have grown to know that through prayer, scripture study and experience. He loves me so much that he sent His only perfect Son to die for me, so that I could be worthy enough to return to him. So I could be with my family forever. He loves all his children, he sent us a prophet (Joseph Smith) to restore his gospel on their earth after many years of darkness. I know that through the Book of Mormon along with the Bible we have the fullness of the gospel back on the earth. I know that as I strive to become more like my Savoir each day I can come to find eternal happiness.

How I live my faith

Striving to develop Christ like Attributes each day through service, prayer, and scripture study.

What do Mormons believe about family?

The Family is central to Christ's plan for His church, we believe that we can be with our families for eternity. Death is not the end of our relationships with our loved ones. We can be with them forever if we follow Christ's example and obey the commandments he has taught us. We can be sealed in temples giving us the power to be together forever. Show more Show less
