Hi I'm Joseph Dyment

I grew up in Centerville, Wa. I came back. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a deeply motivated, conservative shooter, gun guy, history buff, particularly military and U.S. history, and now church history. Born, raised and live in rural Washington I appreciate the aspects of rural life and consider myself a Mormon who's also a country boy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was recently very inactive since my youth. But events and my beliefs have changed and shifted dramatically. For the better if not best I am happy to say. I have found that putting your whole body, mind, soul, into this great work has made me the better person I always wanted to be. And with the gospel and religion in my heart and soul daily. I am constantly achieving my goals and expanding my horizons. In following this simple sound doctrine, I have once again discovered the beginnings of eternal happiness and the blessings and joys from it. So I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I was inactive for years and since returning, i was made a priest. And also a teacher in primary. And very recently was made an elder. I find it enjoyable to help and participate in church meetings anyway. I try to help others around me be close to their beliefs and have sound doctrine.

What is the First Vision?

Joseph Dyment
The first vision was the first defining moment in Joseph Smiths life. The first vision started the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ and his Priesthood to the earth. The first vision occurred in 1820, in a grove of trees on the Smith family farm in New York state. Joseph Smith was a boy of 14 years old. The community he lived in had immense religious fervor. He wasn't sure which church to join. So one day when he was reading in James 1:5 he read, If any on you lack wisdom let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. He then decided to go to, what we now call the Sacred Grove to utter his first prayer. When he kneeled down he felt an evil presence of darkness. That he later recognized was the power of the devil trying to stop him. He then started to pray. And he described a pillar of light brighter than the noonday sun. With two bright, glorious personages. Who identified themselves as God the father and his son Jesus Christ. Joseph asked which church he should join, he was told none. But instead that he should organize and restore the fully complete true church and the priesthood of jesus Christ to the earth. Show more Show less
