Hi I'm Teague Kerr

I grew up in California. I'm a husband, a father, and geek. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a poet who is currently working on getting a degree as an x-ray technician. I've got a beautiful family, and great friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church, and I have always gone to church. I have had doubts in my life about whether there is even a God, but I have found for myself that there is a God, that He is my Heavenly Father and is always looking out for me. For most of my life I kind of just relied on my parent's belief in the church, until I went out as a missionary and taught everyone that I could find about the gospel. It was thewn that I learned to belief for myself that this is the true church. The spirit has whispered to me that it is the true church. And on top of that, it is that only church that coincides with all of the scriptures that I have read and all of the doctrine that I have learned.

How I live my faith

I do my best to improve myself in behavior, knowledge, and wisdom. There are always things that I need to improve, and I try to tackle them one at a time to make myself better.

Why did your church previously practice plural marriage (polygamy)?

Teague Kerr
At certain times, God has commanded His followers to practice plural marriage. Some examples of this in the bible are: Abraham, Isaac, Moses, David, and Solomon. At other times, God has commanded that we practice monogamous marriage. When the church of Jesus Christ was restored, God commanded certain of his servants to practice polygamy for a time, then after a while, God commanded His servants to only have one wife and husband once more. Why is family so important to Mormons?

Teague Kerr
The family institution was set up by God. A family is the best support system, the best environment for learning, love, and trust to develop. Some of the happiest moments of your life are spent with your family. For this reason, God has allowed family relationships to be able to last after death. If we do what God has commanded, then our family can be together forever. Show more Show less

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Teague Kerr
We believe in the law of chastity, and that everyone who breaks the law of chastity has sinned and is in need of asking for God's forgiveness and changing their behavior to abide by the law. The law of chastity is refraining from having sexual relations outside of marriage, and that when you are married, you will be completely faithful to your spouse. God has declared that marriage is between a man and a woman, so any sexual relations between homosexuals would break the law of chastity just like having any sexual relations outside of marriage would. What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Teague Kerr
Husband and Wife are equal partners, one is not greater or lesser than the other. Fathers have the main responsibility to provide for their family physical needs by earning money to be able to fulfill the physical needs of children and wives. They also must provide for the spiritual needs of their children and their wife by teaching them what is right and leading their family by the father's example of righteousness. Fathers must also protect their families. Mothers are mainly responsible for nurturing their children. In all of these sacred responsibilities, husbands and wives are supposed to support eachother and share in the responsibilities. Children deserve to be raised by a father and a mother who are faithful to eachother, and who fulfill their responsibilities in the family. Show more Show less

What is the Church’s position on abortion?

Teague Kerr
We believe that having children and starting a family is one of the most powerful and righteous things that you can do. God has always viewed children in a very special and uniqe way. When Jesus was on the earth, He commanded his disciples to let the children come to him, " for of such is the kingdom of heaven." Each child should be given the opportunity to come into this world and live. When someone goes through with an abortion, they are taking away that child's chance of being born. Show more Show less
