Hi I'm Kristen Kendrick

I grew up in Southern California. I am a fitness and nature lover. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 24 years old. I grew up in sunny Orange County going to the beach, surfing, and playing basketball 24/7. I played all through high school and got a full-ride scholarship to play at Brigham Young University. I have three sisters who all played basketball in high school as well. One also went on to play at BYU right before me. My dad played professional football for the Minnesota Vikings. I met my husband in Park City, Utah and we got married on May 5, 2012- the happiest day of my life! :) Currently we are living in Santa Monica, CA where I work at lululemon athletica selling yoga and running clothes. My husband works as a consultant for a software company. We love our lives here and spend time exploring new restaurants, working out, hiking and hanging out with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a devout LDS family. My mom grew up a Mormon and my dad converted after being married to my mom for eight years. Growing up an athlete I was a stubborn girl. I always wanted to try things my way first and then try my parent's advice after. This was the same way with my testimony. I didn't want to just have a testimony of the LDS church because my parents and family had one, I wanted to learn things myself. College was a shock. I realized my testimony wasn't as strong as I thought it was. I had many experiences in college that shook me and I had moments where I had never felt so hopeless and alone. It is in these dark moments that I have literally felt my Heavenly Father's arms lift me up and fill me with His love. It is in these moments where I feel overwhelming feelings of love, peace, joy, and hope on levels that exceed any happiness I've ever felt! I whole-heartedly love and cherish the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and have a testimony that it is the true church on this earth. I know that the doctrines this church gives is true and if one adheres to its teachings and standards they will live a happy, healthy and hope-filled life. I know that my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love me unconditionally, want me to be happy and care about the little things I care about and I know that by praying to our Father in heaven and build a relationship with Him, we will never feel alone in this life, but instead will live a life of happiness, service, peace, hope and gratitude!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being very involved with my community and serving in my church as a youth leader for girls ages 12-18. I love my job because it really incorporates doing positive things in the community and since we've only been here a year and am new to the LA area, it has opened my eyes to a whole new community that I now love! My church provides so many opportunities to serve. I get to teach lessons on Sunday to a beautiful group of young women. I have been serving in this calling for a year now and I love the girls so much! Every Tuesday night I also get to help plan activities for these girls that will teach them something new or lift them up in another way. Another way I get to serve in my ward is to visit two women each month and talk about spiritually uplifting lessons. I love getting to know them and hearing the stories of their lives and hearing their wisdom.
