Hi I'm Ellen

Utah is my home. I am thinking about going into Mathematical Biology. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah. I was born into a multi-generational family of members of the LDS church. I got my name from a long line of ancestors on my mother’s side. I was a quiet kid. Actually, really quiet (turned out I was practically deaf, but one miraculous surgery later, I can hear just fine). I'm still quiet. I love to read. I love to write. I love my family. I have three niblings (two nieces and a nephew). My life is full of miracles and I just wish I could identify them all. I love education, so I took a ton of “core” classes in high school, leaving the music and the workshop and the cooking to everyone else. And, now I’m in college four hours away from home at the Lord’s University. I started out as a Math Education Major and have taken a leap of faith and changed my major – three years in. Heavenly Father approved the decision, so I’m trying to stick to His side right now as I try to make huge life decisions. Anyway, there’s so much I haven’t told you in this, but this is getting pretty lengthy so maybe I should stop here. But, Heavenly Father loves me and He loves you. John 15:13 says, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” Jesus Christ loved us so much that he gave his life for us – all of it, and not just at the end. He spent his whole life in service of the Father, teaching and leading and guiding. He is our ultimate example, not only in death, but in life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this gospel is true. I've been LDS ever since I was eight and I've just always believed. I am LDS because I come from a long line of steadfast Mormons so I try to do right by them. It has been easy over my life to just go to church and to do what I'm supposed to. However, now, I'm getting older and I'm learning that I really do want to be a part of this gospel. I wouldn't want to live any other way. The gospel makes me happy. I share the gospel and strive to live it so that others will notice and experience the joy I have felt in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be like Jesus Christ. I go to my meetings and try to learn as much as I can about the gospel. I still have so much to learn! I go to my meetings and I help others whenever I have the option to. I repent and take the sacrament. I read my scriptures and pray as often as I can. I work on my family history so that I can be with my entire family forever.

What is the Relief Society?

Ellen
The Relief Society is exactly what the name implies. The Relief Society is for all the women in the church over eighteen years of age. We come together so that we can learn the gospel and live it. We are to offer relief. We're friends and family with a common goal: to come closer to our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
