Hi I'm Kelly

I am a husband, father, university professor of computer science, university vice president, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a university Chief Information Officer (CIO) with responsibilities for much of the campus' information technology and print and mail services. I began my technical career at Intel Corporation. I later joined the faculty of a computer science department and enjoyed doing research, working with talented graduate students, but most of all loved teaching bright undergraduates. I am a husband, father of seven children and grandpa to five grand children. I love to camp, hike, backpack and fish with my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 17 years old I had a high school friend, who I had known for nearly four years, who needed help with his math homework. He came to my home and as we studied we talked about God and Jesus Christ, and their character. While I belonged to another church at the time, I had a strong belief that God and Jesus Christ were separate personages and the Holy Ghost was a spirit personage. My friend shared a book, The Pearl of Great Price, with me where I learned that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teach this truth. After being introduced to the "Mormon Missionaries" I prayed about these teachings and the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and felt the Holy Ghost teach me that these teachings are true. I felt the desire and need to join Christ's Church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I am currently leading a congregation of young single adults who range in age from 18 to 30. It is my pleasure to serve these members and my Savior Jesus Christ. While the hours are long the days are wonderful and uplifting. In this service I help organize weekly church services, regular activities, and counsel with members that need spiritual or emotional support .
