Hi I'm Thomas L. Korte

All the way from the land down under currently serving in the England Leeds Mission

About Me

I Grew up in Adelaide with a neighbourhood of boys roughly my age and we would race on our bikes, explore, kick the footy. Spend hours on the PlayStation or Nintendo, favourite games having to be Super Smash Brothers Brawl and Mario Kart. Throughout high school I have gained a fondness for electronics and have been quick to learn anything related to that topic. I graduated year 12 the subjects I studied where Electronics, Biology, Mathematical Applications and English Communications. I have been called to serve in the England Leeds Mission on the 26th of March 2015. My life heavily revolved around friends, within the church but mostly out getting up to all sorts of shenanigans but have somehow grown slightly more mature. Love going to the river to be towed by a boat jumping from tube to tube or knee boarding just being amongst people. Yet at the same to enjoy time to myself whether it be drawing, or playing games etc. After my two years of service I plan to further my studies at University around electrical engineering to hopefully one day become an electrical engineer.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and have always loved the stories and was always that one kid to play devils advocate by asking the difficult or odd questions...or disrupting the class. Nevertheless, as I grew in the church I developed a deeper understanding of the importance of the gospel of Jesus Christ and haven't had a question I couldn't find an answer through this church. Implementing the pricipals I have learned from a child and continue to learn about on a daily basis I have seen a vast difference in being happier living the commandments and teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints. The LDS church has given me an understanding of why and how to live the principals of the gospel and then by living them has given me the confirmation that what I am doing is right. There is a clear difference in my life when I live the gospel teachings I grow as an individual at a fast rate and am always happy no matter how hard my circumstances my get. The gospel gives me peace of mind and an optimistic point of view on live and has answered and continues to answer all my questions about life.

How I live my faith

Church is a bit more than a 'good thing to do' on a Sunday I feel it to be more of a lifestyle. Everything that I have learned within the church is a reflection of my day to day tasks, which includes daily prayer, reading of the scriptures and being kind as hard as it may be at times, but life as a missionary as a few extra things added to it. My life schedule as a missionary entails waking up at 6:30am to do somewhat vigorous exercise and prepare for the day. Study the scriptures for two hours than by 10:00am out the door accosting people on the streets, on the bus, or knocking on their door finding anyone with an open mind to hear our unique message of the restored gospel. We do this till 9pm it may seem a bit full on but it has brought be more joy and life experience that I could of ever imagined the things I have learned within the short year of doing this is priceless couldn't play any university to teach me the things I have learned. Sharing the gospel is a lot like Pringles, once you pop you can't stop. This will be my life until march 2017 where I will return home from England, continuing to allow my faith to be a reflection of my life.
