Hi I'm Zechariah Malone

I grew up in California. I love to wakeboard and snowboard. I am serving a mission in Vitória, Brazil. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old and I am very active in just about everything I do. I love to wakeboard and snowboard. I have 2 older brothers, one has served a mission and the other is serving in the Marines. I am planning on going to college after I return home from my mission in Vitória, Brazil. I also love to play soccer. I plan on going to school for business or law, I haven't decided yet.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because over the years of growing up, I have seen that my standards are not always the same with others. I am not saying I am better in anyway, but if you know your standards well, you will be able to avoid a situation far ahead of its consequences if you think before you do it. I have met many friends through the church and they have always been there for me. My father was converted along with my mother and because of that, it has blessed my life and many others.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing what I can to help families stay together when it may seem hard. When I was ages 12 to 18 I was going to my church building every wednesday for scouting programs and for youth group activities with other kids my age. It has really shown me how to get along great with others and there has always been friends there that I can count on. I also went to a youth activity with my church called youth conference, and we went door to door to houses asking if we could do service for them and it has shown me how a little service can brighten up someones day so much.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Zechariah Malone
Mormons are not required to serve missions, but serving a mission could help you learn how to direct your life in a way you could never believe. It will be difficult at time but as we persevere and invite others unto Christ, you will see how the gospel changes families. Its brings them together more than anything. For a young adult to give up 2 years of his life in the prime where they are trying to make it in the world, putting that on hold to serve the Lord and others of the world changes you're life. If missionary age members choose not to go on a mission when the time comes that they are eligible to, it is not up to the ward to judge them. It may be disappointing to many but it is up to them do decide what direction they would like to take their lives in. It's a great experience and I encourage all to serve a mission, I am learning day by day while serving my mission when I get to Vitória Brazil. This mission is the best 2 years that will prepare you for your future. It is truly the closest you will get to real life as the Apostle Jefferey R. Holland had said. Learn to love it and and lose yourself in the work. Show more Show less
