Hi I'm Jacob

I live in Alabama. I love camping and the outdoors. I'm a mormon

About Me

I like to play video games and go camping and backpacking. I really enjoy target shooting. I have been apart of army and air force JROTC units, and I loved it. I am currently preparing to serve a two year mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the great joy and peace I feel when I follow the teachings of the church. I have moved many times during my life, and each time I moved, I moved farther away from my family and everything I had known and was comfortable with. The gospel of Jesus Christ and the familiar feeling and friendship I felt every time I was was at church or studied the gospel was the strength that got me through the trials. Even though I was born into a family of church members, I remember the first time I knew for myself the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Book if Mormon. I was struggling with some things in my life and I turned to the scriptures for help. I remember reading and studying the scriptures every night and pleading with Heavenly Father for a way to overcome the feelings of despair and anguish I felt inside. It was not immediate, but as I learned more about the gospel and started to really focus on following the commandments Heavenly Father had given to his children those feeling of despair and anguish went away and they were replaced with joy and peace. I know that Heavenly Father is real and the he hears our prayers. I also know that Christ is our Savior and he died so we can be forgiven of our sins and live with our Father in Heaven. I know the Book of Mormon to be the word of God and I encourage anyone who is unsure to take the challenge in Moroni 10 to "ask God, the Eternal Father if these things are not true"

How I live my faith

I live my faith by participating in my local boy Scout troop. I help out as a leader to help the boys in the troop learn to love the outdoors and learn to be leaders. I have been a youth leader at church multiple times, and I have helped plan and organize activities for my fellow youth. I also am about to leave for a two year mission to share my faith with others.
