Hi I'm Mark Horner

i grew up in Manning, Alberta, i love art, snowboarding and everything outdoorsy, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

i love all outdoor activities, snowboarding is my all time favorite, others are hiking, camping, mountain biking, fishing and hunting as well. i am a lover of all things natural, my hobbies are wire sculpting and wood carving. family is extremely important these activities would be nothing if i couldn't share the experience with loved ones.

Why I am a Mormon

i was born into this faith, as a child I always went to church with my family, and i believed it was the right thing. But, as a teenager i was faced with many influences telling me that what i was doing was wrong, or "uncool". I had to find out if what i was living was right or not. That is where prayer, and study comes in, i spent a long time observing my self and other people, and how the choices that were made affected myself and the individuals i was observing. It wasn't hard to tell that the things the world said were good produced happiness for a short time but always resulted in sorrow after, and how when i read my scriptures and prayed and tried to live according to the standards of the church i felt better, life was easier, i got along with family members, school went better, everything good seemed to be magnified. even with this observation it wasn't enough, i needed to know just like Joseph Smith what was right and what wasn't, i needed a sure answer from God. I had been praying for an answer for quite a wile and didn't feel like i was getting anything. it was an experience i had at a youth camp that showed me the truth, and gave me my answer. it was the final day of a 4 day camp we were re enacting a part in the Book of Mormon where Christ comes and ministers to the people. It was during that enactment, that I felt Gods love, it filled me with warmth, and light, and with that feeling came a knowledge, i knew that God loved me and that i was doing exactly what He wanted me to do. i knew that this church is the church of Christ. Living according to the commandments has brought me more happiness and blessings that i could ever hope to count. Now as a missionary i am privileged to share with the world the truth about God and Jesus Christ and help them find the same Happiness that i have.

How I live my faith

i am currently serving a proselyting mission in Atlantic Canada, as a missionary i live by faith, my purpose is to invite others to come to Christ, and i do so by teaching about him, His gospel and through giving service. i believe strongly in do unto others as you would have them do unto you, I try to see the positive in every situation.
