Hi I'm Edmond

I was born in Yakima, Washington, I will be serving my mission soon, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family of 6 children, I am the youngest, and I live with my father and step-mother. Two of my sibling are step-sisters from my step-mom. I like to read and enjoy listening to music. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family. Anytime spent with them is always something that makes me feel really happy. I recently obtained my eagle scout in boy scouting and will soon be leaving on my mission for the church.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was very young, my father married my step-mother. She was the first person who ever introduced the concept of God to me. My father was raised Catholic but did not feel as if that was the right thing he should teach his kids so when they got married this was the first time i had ever heard anything about God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost. remember when I first started going to church I did not know what to expect. At first I would hate it, it seemed so long and boring, but this was only because of a language barrier and because I never put the time to pay attention. The missionaries would com every week to my house and I did not want to learn at first. Little by little, i started to wonder, what is it that these people are sharing with us? So I started to pay attention and actually think about what they were saying. I started to want them to come over every week and I would feel sad when they couldn't make it. I had to know for myself if it was the true church. Granted I was still young when I chose to be baptized, but I knew deep down that I had to be baptized. It was not because it was what my parents wanted but because I wanted it. know that it is the true church and although I am still young I know for myself that I am in the right church. I continue to follow it because I know that with the faith I have, it is impossible to renounce this church. I can not do it because of the knowledge I have of how true it is.

How I live my faith

I currently serve my church as a ward missionary, which means that I help the missionaries out by going with them to visit people, or I help them in anyway I can. I often help with any community service involving the youth when I can.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Edmond
We come to know our Father in Heaven in multiple ways. We have a personal connection with Him every time we pray. He is listening to us and we can learn things from and about him through the power of prayer. We can also get to know Him through the scriptures. We can learn of how He is and what he wants from us. The most effective is prayer and study of the scriptures. We can read about God as much as we want, but if we don't put forth to get the effort to get to know Him, we won't. Show more Show less
