Hi I'm McKayla Shill

I love sports, I'm the only girl out of 4 kids, i'm a member of a 2,500 member nationally known choir, and I'm a mormon

About Me

I am an 18 year old girl, going to college trying to eventually earn a bachelors in science and nursing so that i can be an ER nurse someday. I decided to put my education on hold and share the gospel. I have been called to serve a mission in Antofagasta, Chile and i will be leaving on February 26th, 2014. My is now dedicated to sharing God's love for his children with everyone. While i was in High School I was always involved in sports, choir, and honors classes so i kept myself very busy. My senior year right after soccer season ended I was in a car accident that injured my right arm. I woke up in the ER and they told me the severity of the injury. They told me that I am beyond lucky to be alive and that my arm would hurt for a very long time. This took a huge tole on, not only my athletic abilities but also my academic. My grades plummeted and my high school athletic career was over. Through the help of friends and family i was able to graduate but not just graduate. I graduated with honors. Since then I have learned to see the hand of the Lord in my life not only through sparing it but also through the small and simple things. It has been almost a year since my car accident and i am now able to do a full push up! A whole push up! Through hard work, a dedicated mind, and a supportive family I have been able to work through this trial and reap the blessings of our gracious Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church but i have prayed and come to know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church! The love I feel and the comfort that this gospel gives me is not comparable to any other feeling I've felt before! Living the commandments and living the gospel of Christ makes me happy and I cant even imagine where i would be without the gospel in my life. I love it!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by sharing God's love for his children with everyone. I am preparing to serve a mission in Antofagasta Chile where i will share the message of the Gospel with every person I meet. Whether it be through kind loving words or through the power of the Book of Mormon I want to share the great love that I feel from my Heavenly Father with everyone in the world!
