Hi I'm Ryan Leppert

I grew up in Spokane Washington. I'm a musician. I love sports. I love my family and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love life. Through my time in High School I wanted to try everything i could! My circle of friends through high school were quite the circle. We were all varsity starter athletes and we loved trying new things. We would go hiking, long boarding, running, we would play a lot of Xbox and other games. I also love music. I play the Guitar as well as the Viola and am currently trying to teach myself how to play the Piano. Music has been a big part of my life. I play music when I am stressed. I listen to it constantly when I drive, when I work out, when I am with friends, anytime I can. I love the family. I have always loved my family and will continue to love my family. I have three siblings, a brother who is nine years younger than I, a sister who is twelve years younger, and another sister who is fourteen years younger. I want the best for my siblings and it has been so much fun watching them grow. Here on a mission, I can provide an example for them and I hope that one day they will serve a mission as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love this church. I love the Gospel. I always try to look for ways to better myself as a human being, big brother, as a son, and as a friend. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gives me opportunities to do just that. I have become a better person, and will continue to grow. Through my life I have made mistakes. These mistakes brought feelings of sorrow, guilt, and shame. No matter what I did or tried to do, I could not be happy. It wasn't until after I asked my Father in Heaven for help that I received guidance as to what I should do. As I repented, as I had a change in heart, I was able to feel a joy that I can not do a justice trying to describe. I felt a burden lifted off of my shoulders that I had been carrying for fourteen years. After this happened I felt something that was so great. It was a feeling of the purest joy that I had ever experienced. I know that it is because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ that I have been able to feel this way. The Atonement, when Christ suffered for the sins of the world, is a personal Atonement as well as an infinite Atonement. When we repent and use the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we can be forgiven of our sins. We can feel a joy that we have never felt before. Feelings of guilt and shame caused by previous choices will be replaced by feelings of happiness, comfort and peace. I know this because I have felt them personally. For this reason, I am a Mormon. There is nothing that can make me deny this Gospel. I know this Gospel if true. Yes it is sometimes hard, but it is so worth it.

How I live my faith

I have devoted two years of my life to be a servant of God as well as a representative of Jesus Christ. I have been called to serve in the Germany Frankfurt mission. I love it here. Everyday I study the scriptures to gain a better knowledge and understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ so that I can better teach others about our beliefs. The purpose of a missionary is to invite others to come unto Christ. I am here away from my family so that I can help other families enjoy the same blessings that my family enjoys. Every day is spent trying to bring others closer to Christ. I knock on doors. I do try to talk to everyone, whether it be by knocking on doors, talking to them on the street, talking to their friends, or any other way. I do this because I have felt the love that Jesus Christ has for me and I want others to know and feel that same love.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Ryan Leppert
A testimony is our personal witness that Jesus is the Christ. A testimony is something special for everyone who has one. It is something that is grown, it is strengthened through experience. It is able to strengthen others, bring joy. A testimony is build on experiences, through times where faith was exercised. Testimonies are beautiful things. Show more Show less
