Hi I'm Dan Thuet

From Las Vegas. I'm into friends/family, books, food, and virtually any outdoor or athletic activity. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I live in Utah, but grew up in Las Vegas I married one of the best people on this planet I speak castellano (aka fancy spanish) Soccer is #1 I always try finding time for rock climbing, camping, hiking, etc I love teaching I'd rather find a new favorite kind of food than a gold mine. My superpower is that I don't really get mad. It's awesome.

Why I am a Mormon

In order to be concise, I have narrowed down this response to 3 areas. 1. I am a Mormon because this church provides me with opportunities to serve and help others on a daily basis. I know that Christ wants us to put ourselves in a place to carry out service. 2. I am a Mormon because the doctrines of this gospel are true. They "taste" sweet to me as I read, study, and pray. For instance, by knowing of God's plan for me and my family, I know how to prepare and live so I can live with my family and friends after this life. 3. I am a Mormon because I went to the Lord in prayer. I had visited different religions to learn about their beliefs, and I studied and prayed to know where the Lord would have me go. I felt the pure love of Christ, and I knew that this was his church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by looking to help other people. When I learn about the life of Jesus Christ, I see a life dedicated to helping other people. He spent his days helping the sick and afflicted, and preaching the words of eternal life. I feel that God is close to me when I reach out to take care of his children, my brothers and sisters. Also, helping others is the best way for me to show my gratitude for Christ giving his life so that I can be forgiven and return to live with him. I also LOVE teaching. In the last 3 wards I have lived in, I have been assigned as a teacher. Nothing compares to seeing the faces of those I teach light up as we discuss the doctrines and principles of the gospel. Also, preparing to teach helps me rigorously study the gospel so I can teach in a simple, concise way.

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

Dan Thuet
For me, the best way to combat the evil of pornography is to stay far from the line. Having 7 brothers in my family, my parents were vigilant about never allowing music videos, magazines, TV shows, or movies into our house that had suggestive content. If a provocative commercial selling underwear or swimwear came on, we would quickly change the channel. Of my closest friends growing up, those of us who were best able to avoid problems with pornography had parents who exercised similar caution with the media content in their homes. This is a blessing I plan to pass on to my own children: a life free from the disgusting filth that is pornography. Show more Show less
