Hi I'm Dana

I grew up in North County San Diego, I go to school for medical assisting, I have tattoos, I am a Mormon!!

About Me

I was born Dec. 6 1987 in Carlsbad, Ca I had a happy childhood and had all the toys and pets i wanted but I was kind of a outcast in elementary school because I didn't dress the way the other girls did, and it wasn't till I moved to Oceanside that I felt as though I fit in, but it wasn't really with a good crowd. I made a lot of bad decisions including dropping out of school! I did try to do some good for myself like getting my GED, learning to sew, and I tried to find a church to go to, my mother brought me up reading the bible and I knew religion was important but I could never find the one for me and I basically gave up. Recently I got married and I had two children and daughter and a son and I decided to get my act together I decided to go to school to become a medical assistant so I can help provide and I decided to seriously look into finding a church to raise my children in, and that's how I came to find this church which is perfect because it is so family based! I am now happy and I made good friends in the church who do not judge me and like me for me not for petty things! I'm getting a good education so i can be a positive example for my children and I have also learned to crochet and cook so I can be handy around the house!!! I love being a mommy and I love this church and all the happiness it brings to my life!!!

Why I am a Mormon

My mother was a member, but stopped going to church. I tried to find a religion that fit for like 10yrs and finally I felt the need to check out the book of Mormon I was nervous about attending and checking out the actual church though, because I have tattoos and thought I would be judged. So I never went. One day I came across the missionary's out side of my apartment, I decided to allow them to come over and teach, they got me to attend pioneer day and then church. I felt welcome and happy among the members. So I allowed them to set a baptism date, which was an amazing day!!! I am so blessed to have found the church. I want me and my children to be able to be together forever in eternity and I'm so lucky to have found a religion that makes this possible!! I love this church and I know that it is true!

How I live my faith

I participate in my ward by attending events, volunteering to feed the missionary's when I can, and cooking for events! I have also spoke at our Stake conference, and bore my testimony!!! I let people who aren't members now about are church and I let them know how wonderful it is and how happy it has made me. I also invite them to events. I'm going to start visiting teaching!!! I also put my self on a volunteer list to help with childcare and cleaning! I also donate items to a charity associated with our church! I also read the scriptures and try to follow the word of wisdom and the commandments and other principles in my daily life!!! & I also pray to Heavenly father daily!!!

What is the Relief Society?

Dana
Women run relief society which is an important part of the church. They basically take care of all the affairs of the church, they make sure the missionary's get fed, if someone is sick or just had a baby they make sure they have someone to help them with anything they need, if there is a birthday they try and do something for there "sister", they also plan all ward dinners/party's/events and make the food and decorate. They also plan like charity events, send letters and packages to our missionary's that are out from our ward. They are a big part of the church! During relief society besides taking care of business we also learn a lesson to better ourselves and our faith and family!!! Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Dana
One thing that is special about our church is they make it possible for you to be together forever with not only your husband but also your children. You can get sealed together for all eternity in the Temple! Sealing which unlike a regular marriage which is just till death, is a marriage for ever!!! You also can be with your children as well forever, which is something so wonderful and a great blessing that comes from being a part of this church!!! Show more Show less
