Hi I'm Tom Stoddard

I'm a sixth generation member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints who knows that I'm a spiritual son of God!!

About Me

I'm married to my sweetheart of thirty-eight years, Martha, and we are the proud parents of five lovely children, Shauna, Troy, David, Jodi and Casey. My wife and I, along with all five children were able to graduate from BYU. We along with our three married children have been sealed in the House of the Lord. My working career involved primarily the wood industry, first as an auditor and later as a controller and finally for the last nineteen years of my working years as the general manager of a wood-moulding manufacturing facility. I delayed my marriage until age thirty-one, primarily caused by my desire to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints complete my college education at BYU with an accounting degree followed by my military obligation to serve in the US military following my graduation from BYU in the Viet-Nam conflict. However, although this was a trying period of my life, I love the freedoms I enjoy in the United States. At times we all must sacrifice, yes and sometimes fight to retain the freedoms we all desire and enjoy. Currently my wife and I are enjoying serving the single young adults as missionaries in Dusseldorf, Germany!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, or a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, because I believe God lives, he appeared to Joseph Smith sharing with him that in the year 1820 no person held his power, namely the holy priesthood to lead his Church. Shortly following the death of the apostles God's power or priesthood was lost, hence his church entered a period of apostasy. Through obedience and faith in God, Joseph Smith received the Holy Priesthood and other keys necessary to organize the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1830. I have a testimony that this Church is the only church that contains the power and authority to act in God's name and unite families for the eternities. I know that the Bible is the word of God, however I also believe that we have a second witness to the divinity of Christ, namely the history of a people who resided in the Americas from approximately 600 BC to 421 AD. I have a testimony that God lives, we are all his spiritual children. We all have agency to choose whether we desire to live his commandments and return to live with him!!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by believing and serving where called within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! Currently my wife and I are enjoying our service with four young missionaries in Dusseldorf, Germany. We support the young missionaries contacting and teaching activities, although our primary responsibilities involve the young single adult member(JAE's) program and I personally serve as a high councilor for the Aachen branch in the Dusseldorf stake. I live my faith by attempting to live a Christ-centered life helping, supporting and encouraging all to follow the principles and doctrines of Christ, which will allow my family to be united after death for all eternities, as a family, with God the Father and our brother, Jesus Christ.
