Hi I'm Amy Rachel

Singer, actress, artist. Lover of ukulele and guitar, animals, laughing, cultures, languages, the ocean and all of God's children.

About Me

I'm a born and raised Mormon from good ol' Utah, 19 years of age. I am a singer, actress, guitar and ukulele lover. I am basically an overall entertainer. I love animals of all kinds and used to work a lot with horses. I love learning about other cultures and languages, and dream of traveling the world. I also dream of living on the beach without a single care. I work at a hotel at the front desk, and I am a college student with an undecided major. And I'm a Mormon! :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and was taught very well by my parents regarding our faith. However, a testimony is something you have to find for yourself, and in my childhood I never did. I lived off my parents strength in the gospel until I was about 17. At that time I became very discouraged in my lack of personal testimony, and began to look for truth elsewhere. I learned about many other religions, including Islam and Buddhism. I found glimmering specs of truth in these religions, but in none of them did I find complete truth. During this time I had abandoned all of my previous morals and had begun to live a very different lifestyle. I was doing things I had sworn I'd never do, and it felt awful. I had never felt so filthy, depressed and alone. I craved peace, love and forgiveness and couldn't find it in any of the places I had been searching. I decided that before completely abandoning my religion that I should read in full The Book of Mormon, which I had never done before, and that that would tell me whether or not the church was true. And so it did. After reading The Book of Mormon I was filled with feelings of peace and truth. I had finally found complete truth. That was the beginning of my testimony, and since then it has grown immensely. I can't imagine life without the gospel of Jesus Christ and His atonement. Because of his sacrifice for me I am able to be forgiven of all my sins. This knowledge is what keeps me going every day.

How I live my faith

I am so grateful for the gift of prayer in my life. Being able to communicate with my Heavenly Father anytime, anywhere is one of the greatest blessings in the world. "Pray always" has always been my motto. I love that I can talk to my Heavenly Father about anything and everything, He is there to listen and help me. Prayer has helped me to escape temptation and receive comfort and guidance throughout my entire life. I know that my Heavenly Father answers my prayers. Another way that I live my faith is through attending the temple. With my job I often have to work on Sundays, so I can't attend my meetings. But I can attend the temple any time during the week, and that is an amazing blessing. The peace found there is indescribable.
