Hi I'm Elizabeth Barker

I was raised in Alpine UT. I am currently studying at Utah State University. I love the canyon and having bonfires. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the seventh child in a family of ten. I am currently a freshman in college. I have been called to serve in the North Carolina Raleigh Mission. I love watching people play sports because I am not coordinated enough to play them myself. I love the snow and winter is my favorite season.

Why I am a Mormon

There were times where my faith wavered. Times when I would ask "Why me?" I was born into an LDS family and at times my faith depended on my parents faith, I didn't believe it for myself. And there were definitely times when I didn't believe at all. Those times were the hardest. I had trials and without the Lord I was stuck. Nowhere to go but down. Then finally I decided to find out for myself if this church was true. I made a change and focused on all of the things that make a person truly happy. I read my Bible and Book of Mormon daily and went to the Lord in prayer with the questions I had. I looked for opportunities to serve others and to get out of the selfish life I was living. I found answers. Now I know that there is nothing greater than feeling Gods love for you and that there is no greater love than the love God has for all of his children. Although there are many things I still have questions about, I do not question the truth of this Gospel and of this church. This church is true. Without it I don't know where I would be in life. Finding this out for myself was the best decision I have ever made. I have a strong testimony that we are all Gods children, that his son Jesus Christ died so that we could return to our Father in Heaven one day. I know that we can live with our families again someday, that we are an eternal family meaning that we will be together forever. There is no greater peace than knowing I will see my loved ones again someday. Because of this knowledge I now have, I want to share it with other people.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by looking for opportunities to serve. I love to help people and I look for any chance I can get to reach out. One of my favorite things to do to participate in my community is to serve the homeless.
